If true, then that's just stupid. It's one thing to block a waived player by claiming him, but to trade for a player for the sake of blocking him, is just asinine.
Edit: besides, what's to stop the Giants from acquiring another 2B?

It's not a real trade. They needed an open roster spot. It's a PTBNL. And the Giants were in the market for a utility infielder.

What the hell!? Max Kellerman called the Raiders the "#2 team in LA" live in ESPN SportsNation, while hyping Sharknado 2 in the same episode. To add insult to injury, they even aired the episode live in their LA studio.
Newsflash: LA officially has NO NFL team within its market, while the Dodgers are becoming "out of sight, out of mind" because they're exclusive to Time Warner Cable. That makes the LA Kings and the NHL the #2 team in STAPLES Center and league in Los Angeles, respectively.
