Other way around

1. Jon Lester is an expiring contract; at worst, this means the Dodgers would leave empty-handed should Lester elect free agency, while the Red Sox get to keep elite prospects.

2. When the Red Sox sent over Nick Punto (now with the Oakland Athletics), Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, and Josh Beckett, they received James Loney (now with Tampa Bay), Ivan de Jesus, Rubby de la Rosa, and Jerry Sands in return. In addition, that mega trade afforded the Red Sox free agency salary space for them to land Shane Victorino, Stephen Drew, and Koji Uehara, to name a few. A year after that trade, the Red Sox won the 2013 World Series.

The Red Sox are such a LOL team. They either win the World Series or are a division basement team.

Plus their fans are among the most unbearable in all of sports.

You do realize this statement is completely arguing against your point.

Sure, the Red Sox were the first-ever World Series winner, but they cannot carry the pressures of being a worldwide team like the New York Yankees. I previously told this in the Non-Sharks NorCal thread, but even then, Cuba and the Philippines had already heard of the New York Yankees, long before World War II.

Most importantly, Boston is a baseball town; also, that sentence right there just gave Yankee fans a free pass why we constantly claim the New York Yankees are singlehandedly carrying baseball, to the point they saved it after the "Black Sox" scandal, became the first-ever MLB to three-peat, 4peat, and 5peat, Lou Gehrig was the first-ever player whose number the Yankees retired, healed The Bronx when it burned, and I personally guarantee you more people know about Mariano Rivera than they do know about Jackie Robinson, even when both men wore #42, to name a few. :naughty::thumbu:

That move was nothing more than a salary dump by the Red Sox, while affording themselves the much-needed free agency salary space, which they did and allowed them to do massive call-ups and won the 2013 World Series.

My definition of "they are our farm team" is that they are the ones giving us proven players. But it's okay, it's ADifferentTim. He never says anything nice about the Dodgers. i should admit that I don't really like him.

I knowledgeably and sincerely appreciate your honesty there. Even then, the Dodgers are losing out on prospects, while ex-Dodgers won World Series rings in Boston.

I know; you think those claims are ridiculous, to the point you're accusing me of being utterly smug.

Since the Rams get namedropped here, they're named after Fordham University's mascot.

I'll be honest, I had no idea what was going on in your post.

Bill Cosby, the master of facial expressions.

I call the one above "Incredulity."

One of my favorite shows.

I'd like to show more honesty about ADT but I'd just get more infractions.

Had the 2004 Dodgers stayed intact and not dismantled their team chemistry, they I personally guarantee you they would had won the 2004 World Series. Even that July 31, 2004 Trade Deadline tugged my heart, seeing grown men like Dave Roberts and Paul LoDuca, crying their hearts out. :shakehead

Some of the reactions in AT&T Park tonight were hilarious. The Giants get a base hit and you would think the Sharks just won a Stanley Cup. I know, bad analogy. That'll never happen.

Stewart and Kemp wanting Boston, shows how selfish Kemp is being by wanting to go to a last place team instead of team that has a shot at the playoffs.

and ESPN just showed the number for the four OF's not named Puig and Kemp has the most AB's but he still needs to ***** about playing time.

I don't think the Dodgers should trade Kemp he will put it back together again eventually, not MVP numbers but better numbers then Either and awful Crawford would put up.

Kemp hasn't said anything. Everyone knows Dave Stewart is a crybaby. I mean he literally cried all the time when he pitched. He's emotional. Kemp actually had to use the media to reprimand Stewart for speaking for him last year. In fact, Stewart is saying Kemp is upset because he's not playing CF. Kemp has said the exact opposite to the media last week. Kemp has not said anything about playing time in months and that was before the season started. it was in response to a question posed by a columnist. If he said he didn't mind sitting everyone would yell at him more.

Fact is that Kemp works harder than anyone. Everyone is upset because he's gotten hurt and it's hurt his game. He's still a very good player and will get better with continued health. It takes years for the shoulder to recover.

Speaking of the Rams, something tells me Big Ben goes on the market next year. Steelers are playing an odd game with him and Ben is not exactly humble. It's conceivable that he would just not accept a contract due to the giving everyone the cash before him and telling him to prove it. He will cost as much cap hit as Bradford does.

I believe Sam Bradford can be solid to above average, which is all the Rams need with the way the are built but I'm obviously concerned with his ability to stay healthy and he certainly is not worth his money.

Dodgers acquire Darwin Barney.

I saw that, and this acquisition makes no sense. Even if he's just a bench player, we're talking about a career .244 avg player with no power and OBP of .290. Bleh!

As for Kemp rumors, what do you guys think about the rumor of Kemp for Lester? Personally, I think the dodgers get robbed here. Lester's just going to be a rental. Kemp although under-performing, can still be a very good player.

I think it's more for his Gold Glove defense.
