Clippers up by 33 at halftime.

The second period was Clippers 44, Lakers 13.

What an absolute nightmare for Lakers fans and an absolute joy for Clippers fans.

To bad they didn't hire Phil Jackson. According to the few people left on my facebook feed who actually talk about the Lakers say that D'Antoni is holding them back and the team would be a contender with PJ.

You don't seem like the person that would be friends on Facebook with Laker fans. Or have a Facebook.

Who doesn't have a Facebook?

And as for Lakers fans, the best thing about them sucking (and there are a lot) is how silent Facebook friends have been over the past two years, the only people still posting about the Lakers are the type of people who call Team 1040 and ESPN 710 after the games.

They will stay insufferable. Its soon gonna transition to "This FA 3 years from now is destined to play for the Lakers"

"I mean who doesn't want to play for the Lakers"

That or the lottery will be rigged and the Lakers will win it.

Clips aren't letting up. Up by 48 now. They just showed a shot of Mitch Kupchak. He looks very sad.

Tough year for the Lake Show.

Considering how the league intervened in the Chris Paul trade, I highly doubt they'll be rigging anything in favor of the bumbling fool Jim Buss.

But they probably will land a big ticket free agent somehow, just like they did when they landed Shaq.

A 24-year old Shaq today would not be a free agent in this era.

I don't think the Jim Buss is a fool thing is valid. Had the league not voided the Paul trade, there is no Nash trade. They still would have had the pieces to land Howard, who very well might have re-signed with Paul as a teammate.

Coaching decisions have been suspect of course, but personnel moves in recent years have not been bad.

I'm inferring to a guy like Carmelo, a top free agent who the Lakers will throw a ridiculous amount of money to.

Carmelo is fools gold. NBA's version of Kovi (or a OVI type)...gonna get you the points....actually just becomes a drag on any team game. But this is covered up by the fact that he can single handily win games and carry you to a first round playoff exit.

Carmelo and Kobe on the same team? That would be hilarious to watch.

Indeed it would.

The Lakers would be better off sucking for another year, signing guys to 1 year deals and having nothing but Kobe and their 2014 and 15 top 5 draft picks on the books, then pursue a couple of guys in that loaded free agent class.

I'm not a Laker fan, I just know how the economics of basketball work.

That or the lottery will be rigged and the Lakers will win it.

For starters, the Lakers are tanking, while they're the only West Coast NBA team to be a legitimate billion-dollar team.

Also, Lakers have more than enough class they'd ban themselves from participating from a rigged lottery. Besides, small-market teams have openly expressed their jealousy towards the Lakers at one point or another before, while smart trades--especially Draft Day trades--can turn around the team. Remember how the Lakers traded Vlade Divac for Kobe? :naughty:

As for the Free Agency talk, I personally look forward to the 2016 Off-season when the Lakers sign Brian Shaw as a head coach and Kevin Love as a free agent.

This painful loss by the Lakers, in a way, is a sign Jim Buss is swallowing his pride, while aiding the team's tanking efforts.

In fact, last I checked on www.TankingForWiggins.com, that loss to the Clippers catapulted the Lakers back to the #5 overall.

I think I've seen the Washington Generals put up more of a fight than the Lakers did tonight. Hell, I think the Globetrotters would embarrass the Lakers.
