The NBA draft is a bigger Crapshoot than the NHL draft. You neeeever know who's gonna pan out unless your Lebron. Even Kobe was an unknown. Luckily we had Jerry West who was a master at evaluating talent. Anyways, I think I'm the only one who thinks Embiid is gonna be another Olowakandi! But what do I know!:)

Too true.

However, the free agents are the real question mark, after this season, Deng isn't going to LA to be Kobe's wingman on a borderline playoff team, Lowry could but why waste the cap space for mediocrity?

They would be better off to suck in 14-15 too, and get another top 5-7 pick, and have all the cap space in 2015 when guys like Roy Hibbert, Marc Gasol, Kevin Love, Jeff Green, Rajon Rondo and LaMarcus Aldridge are set to be free agents.

I heard the other day that the Dodgers now have their own network. So is Fox Sports West now the Kings Sports West network? What is left on there? Pac 10 football, Kings/Ducks and Angels?

Yep. The Dodgers will have a network like what the Lakers have, however, right now only Time Warner Cable has an agreement with the distributer.

Yea, that, the Clippers and some random college basketball is what's left on FSN/FSPT.

By the way, did anyone hear that Comcast is buying Time Warner Cable for like 45 billion? That's good news for Comcast subscribers such as myself, Lakers game will be available again, as they haven't been since TWC bought the broadcast rights.

Best analogy for that deal is **** buying ****. Doesn't matter what label you put on it. Its crap that belongs in the toilet that you're forced to pay for.

Pac 10 has their own network.

Yup.

If it's only on that network, probably won't watch Dodger games like I don't watch Laker games anymore.

I think the Lakers have done a pretty good job with their network. The games are impossible to watch now (so I don't) but the roundtable shows on the Showtime era Lakers with Kareem, Worthy, Scott and Cooper have been excellent. Given the amount of time they have to kill, they're off to a decent start.

I can't see how fragmenting all of the local sports coverage is going to be profitable in the long run. It is one thing if you are the Yankees and to a lesser extent, the Lakers. But do the Dodgers pull in enough revenue from TV year to year that it is worth the overhead of starting your own network? I think you run the risk of people saying "f it". I also heard a la carte cable was on the horizon. At least that is what the guy at charter said when I told him I'd like to cancel all my channels excet NBCSN, Fox Sports and NHL Network. Quite frankly, I'm ready to get rid of it all and just start streaming Kings games. I pay $125 a month for 300 channels I don't watch.

Ah, the ring argument.

That argument is the strongest in the MLB and the NBA.

Even coaching is used in the ring argument. Case in point: Brian Shaw won three rings in a row, starting from the first season Staples Center opened to the final year of NBA on NBC; as an assistant coach, he won two rings in a row with Kobe.

Yes, coaching is the only reason why Phil Jackson, despite being a benchwarmer with the Knicks as a player, is best remembered for his dynasties with both the Bulls and the Lakers.

As for Comcast's attempts to buy Time Warner Cable, the only reason why Charles Schumer is purposely allowing it to happen is to force Comcast to stop the company's data capping and throttling shenanigans. Seriously, Comcast is just asking to get chewed and spat out for its data caps and throttling shenanigans.

To put it bluntly, even Pomona, California, South Central L.A., and The Bronx all have better internet (read: Verizon FiOS) than Philadelphia, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, and San Francisco (read: Comcast) combined!

As soon as Google Fiber is in NH or in my part of Cali, I'm getting it. I will legit drop out of school and move back to Cali just to have Google Fiber.
