I was never much of a football fan at all, and by the time I decided to give watching it a shot it couldn't be much worse as far as timing went.

Jim Everett, Flipper Anderson, and an aging Jackie Slater was the highlight of the Rams and the Raiders had Art Shell playing musical quarterbacks, going so far as to throw ragin' agin' Vince Evans out onto the field to spark the team.

I guess that's what the dark lighting is for...to hide the empty seats from the TV audience. :sarcasm:

But boy, 18,209 is considered bad for a Laker home game. So many teams would want to have that kind of attendance.

Mike D is a garbage coach.

The New York Knicks, his previous team, are the Bad Apple of the NBA, to the point Fred the Godson from The Bronx even rapped,

"Swallow, because she like the d...
But she choke, guess she like the Knicks
It's no Deng
I leave chicks like Ewing, knees hurt with no ring"
--Fred the Godson, She Call Me God

And yes, Fred the Godson is a Knicks fan.

That will change. I don't care what team you are when you don't win here in LA fans stop showing up. The Lakers are in a black hole and they won't come out of it for years. They got extremely luck when they pulled off the Bryant for Vlade trade but that kind of miracle isn't coming again. It's about to get real easy to get Laker tickets and I hope for once in my life people will stop talking about them because they are no longer relevant like the Raiders. It's over Johnny. It's over!

This is gonna be the 1985 frozen envelope draft all over again, just a matter of who will get it, the Lakers, Celtics or Knicks, all of whom are in the bottom 9 ATM.

Knicks don't get it twice. Anyways, there is at least 4 franchise changing players in this draft.

Coming into the year, I would've agreed. However, Parker, Wiggins, Randle etc. just haven't lived up to the hype of being LBJ, Melo etc. type players. The only one who has is Joel Embiid, who has said he may not enter.

The Lakers will still have Bryant and his monster deal handcuffing the team and guys don't like playing with him. The dude is a ball hog, his ego is writing checks his body can't cash and you don't have to look any further than Dwight Howard that the Lakers are not a premiere destination. The Lakers had a great run but every empire falls and it's usually due to their own mistakes and the Lakers continue to make mistakes with every move they make. This is what it was like to be a Kings fan at one point. Don't want to pay Marty McSorley, trade him, get almost nothing in return, realize they made a mistake, trade another good player to get him back, turns out he's not the same player.

I disagree. Any one of those players you mentioned are better skilled and having better years than Irving, Wall, and even Unibrow. I guarantee you Embiid comes out. Also, Dante Exum may be the best out of all of them but gets less run because he's an Aussie. I'd take any of those 5 guys over any draft pick over the last 4 years.

Maybe they could get a decent package in return for Gasol before his value starts to depreciate any further. That disastrous trade for Steve Nash was the red flag that this team was going to be desperate to salvage a playoff spot, then they re-sign an aging Kobe before he is fully healed from his injuries. It's a shame Jim Buss won't sell the team, the meddling fool is going to ruin the legacy that his father left behind.

I always forget about Exum.

Kobe's obviously a Jordan wannabe, and that's painful to admit. Ballhogs turn to NBA Champions, only because of a strong supporting cast.

Fixed, with emphasis on Jim Buss.

Lakers are officially tanking, even when Mitch Kupchak constantly denies it: 14th in the Western Conference.

One, 20mil isn't handcuffing the Lakers. Not at all. They can work around that like they've done in the past. Second, the old "Kobe Bryant is a ball hog" thing is old and been proven wrong statistically over and over and over and over again, particularly in the last couple championship runs. He gets plenty of assists. Third, Dwight Howard is a head case and couldn't handle being the focus on a team. They never should have gone after him to begin with. Having the Chris Paul trade blocked was the deathknell of this team, plain and simple.

Not pulling off the trade for Dwight Howard would have been just as bad considering the mess that Andrew Bynum turned into with his knees. Would've saved them from all the drama and headaches, but the situation would've been no less terri-bad.

Well, all of that went down after being denied Chris Paul. It was a plan B.

Jordan Hill will be traded soon too I imagine. I'm not sure I would trade Hill. He's young and exactly the kind of player that is needed on a successful team.
