There is no space for him.

Caufield
Demidov
Laine
Slafkovsky
Newhook
Anderson
Gallagher
Heineman

That's 8 wingers right there that are locked to be on the team.

It doesn't even include guys like Roy, Davidson, and Tuch who could possibly be ready for the nhl.
Armia is way better suited in the bottom 6 than Newhook (who might be the 3rd line center next year) and is better than Gallagher. They can definitely make room for him.

That beard is no coincidence,St-Louis is already in playoffs mode.

This team deserve a playoff spot and that will be the best thing for the rebuild. We have already enough of talent with Demidov, Beck, Kapanen, Hage, Reinbacher, Engstrom, Fowler coming.

If I have to hazard a guess Demidov will play with Nick Suzuki at one point next season.
Suzuki has been a godsend for this team with his ability to work with young talented wingers.
I can't think of a better player to pair him with particularly if you see him as a potential center down the road.
Suzuki, is a quiet low keyed star.......the guy is our best player, hands down.......the kid has been amazing since he landed in Montreal..................glad we got him, and not Cody Glass!! lol

But he's better than Gallagher tho
Like, MUCH much better
And Gallaghers signed 2 more years
So turning Gallaghers 2 years into 2 or 3 years of Armia at a much cheaper rate than 6.5M seems like a better way to go for me

There is no chance they are letting that Gallagher contract play out, they'll retain if they have to
This is about icing the best team possible these next crucial couple years
Armia is better. But that doesn't always mean much. And it's not like Gallagher is bad, he's not. He's a still a useful player if he was making a different wage - much like Anderson has turned into this year. Armia is also way better than Anderson. And Kapanen will probably be better than all 3 next year - at least on a consistent standpoint.

The most excitint thing about this team is that we're still missing Demidov. Just imagine our team rolling the way it is, but with Demigod added. The PP will never not score
It's going to be interesting to see who they take off the 1st unit to fit Demidov. I'd imagine either Caufield or Slaf.

I still find it 200% crazy that our fans are willing to sign the vets and let the kids "cook" in the AHL for 3 more years It's like our fans did not learn anything from the last 30 years. Hope KH is a better GM than that. This team needs upgrade and it wont come from the UFA market and nobody will trade an elite player for guys drafted in the 2nd/3rd round unless you show them at the NHL level.
Except for Demidov and maybe Beck, which kid is an upgrade. Hage will need at least a year in the A. Reinbacher will have lost a year of development, and do I need to remind you that he will have to make up for that lost year and, like Dach, get his body into top form again? So, what kid or kids are you referring to?

Buying out Gallagher might be cheaper then trying to find someone to take his contract with 2 years left on it.
This is the buyout years cost for the next 4 years if the Habs buy him out in June this year:
$1,750,000$4,250,000$1,750,000$1,750,000

The 2nd year hurt more, but still save $2,250,000.

There’s no rush. The team is still transitioning. I don’t see a need to eat up space buying out Gallagher. They’ll play it out at least through next year.

So much for our system being the issue... It was clear that it was on the players, they stepped up now and that's the difference. Couple of adjustments here and there and we're fine.
The System has changed too. Or it is how it was supposed to work and they did Not Apply it correctly, who knows.
