So because he behaved himself for 2 different 8 month periods with the Canes it negates the fact that he got suspended in juniors twice for some kind of racial/homophobic/something abuse, once to his own teammate, healthy scratched for attitude problems 8 times in one year, got suspended for abusing an official in Arizona, told his goalie to make a f***ing save after HE turned the puck over to lose a game in OT leading to his getting waived banished to the AHL and bought out - threatened to fight fans outside MSG. Got into it with Flyers fans on social media when he was benched again. Came back and immediately speared a guy in the dick and got suspended again.Cause he was here for two season and not once did anything like that happen. Not once. Guys who openly say negative things about guys like Eric Haula havw nothing but good things to say about TDA. Finally after leaving NY he was invited to a wedding and a good portion of the team was there and hung out with him and seemed to have a great time around him.
But how many orgs and coaches has he killed?Skinner has played on 4 teams in the last 16 years.
Ultimately it takes more than one person to ruin a relationship. Every single failed relationship had actions by both sides that caused it. Sure you can place the majority of blame on one person in some cases but no one is innocent in a situation like that. With that being said for TDA to have a lot of friends on the Rangers when he moved on and be well-liked by the majority of players in that locker room and then be here for 2 seasons and be well-liked by pretty much the entire team it sure seems like there was an instigator in some of these other cases. Again I'm sure he is more to blame than the other parties involved, he's a hothead no question, but it very well could be there was bias in some of these cases based on past actions and others around him had preconceived notions before ever meeting him.I find most people that dislike him and dismiss him now did exactly the same thing before he played with us, and were just waiting for some confirmation elsewhere to go back to hating him.
He was very well liked in the Rangers room as well as for the Canes. We liked him enough to bring him back for round two. Seems strange when it’s our fans dogging him, he was clearly welcome here. Some people didn’t like that and seemingly want to act like it didn’t happen.
I think if he didn’t get paired with Orlov to start last year he might be still playing for us now.
He said something anti semitic in juniors. Thats the word his Dad was referring to in the infamous interview. As far as I know, that’s the only really bad thing he did other than being a loud mouth.
For what its worth, I have heard he wore out his welcome here last year because he was an asshole behind the scenes. Things were fine the first time around when he was getting minutes with Slavin and playing meaningful minutes but the second that stopped, at least from what I've heard, he caused issues demanding he deserved more than he was getting, and it didn't sit well with the staff.Cause he was here for two season and not once did anything like that happen. Yea, I don't doubt there might be some validity to the story, but it very much reads as a reddit "I know a guy" type of post that goes viral for confirmation bias reasons. TDA is a hothead, he's definitely got that Jersey attitude that can grind some gears, but the only people I've really heard complain that he's an asshole are fans who hate him who never met him. He's bounced around teams not because teams hate him personally, but because he sucks at defending to the point his offensive production is outweighed by defensive deficiencies. Slavin saved him the first year and made him look much better, then last year he got exposed while being with Orlov to just how bad his defense was. I honestly wonder if he tried to make the switch to forward if he would have more success? He’s only been told to leave one for sure, right? That was in the end kind of interesting since everyone on the team hated Georgiev, presumably more than Tony. Here he left because supposedly family reasons then the click baiters all chime in with stories everyone is going to believe whether they’re true or not.
We brought him back. Couldn’t have had any behind the scene issues for that to happen.
“According to our source” = “trust me Bro”?
There's video of the coach over there responding to him with a FU after he had one of his classic tantrums. It's not all about his lack of defensive skills or fans. You can see the players' reactions on the bench to the outburst and exchange. Supposedly, this wasn't the first time either.Yea, I don't doubt there might be some validity to the story, but it very much reads as a reddit "I know a guy" type of post that goes viral for confirmation bias reasons. ah, come on.So because he behaved himself for 2 different 8 month periods with the Canes it negates the fact that he got suspended in juniors twice for some kind of racial/homophobic/something abuse, once to his own teammate, healthy scratched for attitude problems 8 times in one year, got suspended for abusing an official in Arizona, told his goalie to make a f***ing save after HE turned the puck over to lose a game in OT leading to his getting waived banished to the AHL and bought out - threatened to fight fans outside MSG. But this is the guy people have to white knight for because he gets treated unfairly. Its so f***ing bizzare.
And I don’t even give a shit. Some people are assholes. Who cares. Defending this guy as if he deserves the benefit of the doubt is just wild to me.
If he had to sign an NDA, wouldn't that imply that the stink is with the team/organization rather than TDA?There's video of the coach over there responding to him with a FU after he had one of his classic tantrums. Evidently, he had to sign a NDA as part of his departure payoff package.
The post didn’t read that way but could be? Maybe they don’t want folks to know how much they paid to shoo him off.If he had to sign an NDA, wouldn't that imply that the stink is with the team/organization rather than TDA?
