But the Bruins have the tie-breaker against all of them.
NYI has 4 Home and 6 Away games remaining.
If the Bruins close the year playing barely 500 (5-4-0), Isles would need at least 6-3-1 to pass them.
I'm not worried about Tor, NYI or TB. Bruins will start winning again and get in. Hopefully as the 3rd seed in Atlantic...
That tie-breaker is useless if they Bruins don't have more points after all is said and done.
Toronto is already ahead of Boston, and the Isle's need 1 more point than them. That's not exactly a stretch, to say the least.
Leafs @ 83 can collect 20 more points, tops 102 points.
Bruins @ 82 can collect 18 more points, tops 100 points.
Islanders @ 80 can collect 20 more, tops 100 points.
Lightning @ 77 can collect 20 more points, tops 97 points.
Subtract the losses (loss points from that total as we go) Who has the most at the end will likely be in it. Yes, Bruins win the tie, but they need the tie in order for that to matter.
Two of those teams will make the playoffs. IF all the teams perform the same, the Bruins will make it. But it's all in the Bruins own hands whether they are one of them or not.
