My favorite Patrick Roy moment as a coach was when he called out Duchene for celebrating like a f***tard when he scores his 30th while his team was about to lose 4-0….im down with Roy, our team needs a kick in the ass and less egos in the room
With Hartley assistant would be gravy

Has anyone noticed that The Winnipeg Jets are #1 in the NHL. And there is this guy coaching them; Rick Bowness.. Never heard of him..

And there is this guy Ryan Bowness with the Sens.. any connections?????

Here I am reading up on Rick and I discover he was available in the summer of 2022... f*** no..

So I am reading some more..Vegas Golden Knight.. A guy there by the name of Bruce Cassidy.. wins a cup.. Turns out; he is from Ottawa, who knew???? And was available in the summer of 2022

Funny huh.. in the summer of 2022, the Sens were in the toilette.. the 2021 FYOUS had gone by the waste side...

If only we knew about these two guys back then?

I continue reading; Jim Montgomery.. Montreal boy.. available 2022. Pete DeBoer, Dunnvile Ontario...available 2022. Paul Maurice.. Sault S. Marie..available 2022

MAN... the league needs to stop hiding these guys from us..

Ouch...f***ing ouch
We couldn't afford any of them, they're all NHL coaches. We hired an OHL coach.

"We've got a choice. Either we sulk or you take it and be a man and want to get better,” said Ottawa interim coach Jacques Martin.

“There's no choice. We've got some good talent. We just have to learn to play without the puck, be more efficient without the puck. We make it too easy for the opposition."

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet

did we not go through this once already?

Dave Cameron being an OHL coach for Melnyk's team...

That did not work out all that well.

Funny; Melnyk hires Paul Maclean.. an assistant to Babcock.. it id not work out well. Then they hire DJ, an assistant to Babcock.. it did not work out well

So we repeat the Dave Cameron thing????

I guess we never learn

Cameron coached Mississauga in 2011, and then jumped straight to Ottawa in 2012 as an assistant. Was only made head coach because Maclean was fired.

Gruden coached Hamilton in 2017, and has been an assistant coach in the NHL or head coach in the AHL for the 6 seasons since. He'd be sought out for the hire, not replacing the fired head coach midseason.

Obviously he and his family have lots of ties to the Sens.

What type of coach is he?

Defence oriented strict disciplinarian?
Demanding?
Friendly motivator?

MacLean made the playoffs in two of the three years before getting fired mid season for being .500. Even won Jack Adams. He may not have lasted long, but it was at least a competitive team, wouldn't call it a failure or anything.

Won the jack Adams and was runner up another year, and along the way gave us some awesome quotes and moments,

What did he say?
When he got here the team was talking about how tough he was being and they wanted the old Paul back. Bobby thought it was a joke, having come from Randy Carlyle. Said it was a country club. Paul told Bobby he tried to get tougher with the guys and it almost got him fired so he was trying to find a balance. I'm paraphrasing of course. Check out the podcast. It's one of the newer ones.

I realize this annoys me a bit. You have a placeholder there in Martin who is trying to teach them things....only to have yet another coach come in in the off-season and try to implement his own system? The players heads are gonna be really swimming in September of next year - then it's going to take more time for the new coach to get things where he wants to be - and that could lead to another shitty record in October and November.

I hope this team starts to hire experienced NHL level coaches who have had some success in the past. We don't need any more inexperienced coaches; nor GMs for that matter.
