I guess the Latvian goalies werent so good after all. This is being said, when I havent watched the game yet.
does Nolan speak Latvian?
Nolan hasnt lived in Latvia for 20 years and doesnt have latvian citizenship, now does he?
Wow. That's a proper reality check. All this bold talk from everyone (including me) about golden generation being wasted in second tier tournament and it all comes crushing down this stunningly. Tambijevs or no Tambijevs, the team with all this supposed skill should of won despite him. That being said, he deserves to be crucified and probably deserved to be sacked already last year. He can't coach or impose any structure or game plan upon the team. A huge mess.
Don't start this.Please.Latvia has what 30% Russian population, and only discriminatory laws don't make Russian a second official language.
They are too young to overplay similar teams purely based on talent alone. If that would be possible- why even have head coaches? Just put them on the ice with a predefined training plan and let them play how they want to- their talent will prevail. But what bothers me is.. 16-32 shots? Really?! it should be way closer than that. If Tambijevs won't resign after this (although i am sure he will sniff out the possibility that he could get sacked) then i don't know what is happening.Wow. That's a proper reality check. CongratulationsThe really good thing about this team, is that most of the more talented players are 1st generation U20 players. Which means they will be available for the U20 team next year in Toronto/Montreal.
My parent's live in Toronto.. This is gonna be soooooo cool![]()

However, the question is, who to replace Tambijevs with??

I don't mind. We would get crushed next year anyway. It would get really ugly.. Do you think Denmark has the possibility of staying up next year?Cheers mate
And sorry it had to be on your expence... For a rival team, I really like you Latvians
Does Latvia not have any ethnical coaches available, with the knowhow ofc?

There is not a huge pool of coaches to choose from.. This is the reason why we have Ted Nolan(Buffalo Sabres temporary coach) as our national team coach. Artis Abols has done a good job of having Dinamo Riga sitting comfortably in KHL Western conference playoff spot and he is the main candidate to take over NT coach role. But you were asking about u-20.. That i do not have an answer to.
Hmm realistically, I don't see us staying up.
If Draisalt plays in the NHL next year (and that can happen) Danes can easily stay up.
Right now, i can't see anyone else but Hungary coming up.Any of Hungary, Netherlands or Lithuania can come up now. Tight.
2.00 on Croatian victory and 2.70 on Estonian. I am sure they didn't watch first three Croatian games.![]()
That is true.. It really depends on which team drafts him and at what #Pos he is taken.
Let's hope![]()
most of the back bone on the team is still on for wjc 2014 so i think we definately have a shot, with or without draisalt on germanys team. Who says they stay up instead of norway anyway?
This is a perfect selling window for our prospects and they will do anything it takes to be chosen to this team. It could very well be their future that opens up if they get on the team and plays well. Scouts from all chl-clubs will be seated here. If i were a young talent in the perimeter of national team level i would work my ass off the next 12 months to secure my place on the team.

Did you see Norwegian roster?
Lithuanians, meanwhile, are kicking Romanian butts and Lithuania - Netherlands will most likely decide who's taking the second place.
No, I havent got a clue about the norwegian roster, but Denmark was not the obvious promoted team either, so you cant always judge a roster solely on the paper. Furthermore Denmark have had our grip on both Norway and partly also Germany when it comes to junior hockey, so I am not that affraid. Also worth noting is that our perfomance against for example Slovakia has been really good the last few years. Didnt we beat them the last two or three times?
