Chelski look decent and Villa look like crap so far. Villa’s inability to break a press that is just standing in the passing lanes and not actually ‘pressing’ is laughable. And the ref is a boob.

On vacation in BA and was able to go to the Libertadores final yesterday. What a game and atmosphere

Citeh without Rodri have an incredibly soft midfield. Their amazing lack of awareness defensively allows them to be passed through over and over with no adjustments at all. Still only 1-0 so…

That’s a first for me to be honest. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of a PL game getting postponed due to weather. Liverpool was in all likelihood going to smash them but I was still excited to watch.
Throw out the records in that derby at Goodison. I think Liverpool have only won twice in their last 10 trips there.

That’s what I get for lol’ing at Brighton….

Trash Cucurella falls twice, leading to two goals….what a total donkey.

It’s one thing to pick the wrong cleats for the match, it’s another to not change after the 1st, slip, and concede a 2nd time.

Sancho…..back in it.

City losing again too ...
Obviously losing a ballon d’or winner would negatively impact any team but not having anyone else in your squad who can even play his position is malpractice. I didn’t see the game but it looks like their midfield was de Bruyne, Grealish?!?, and Gundogan.

Those are still three of some of the best players on the planet that should be able to beat a pretty mediocre Juve

Gundogan is the only one of those 3 even knows the meaning of the word defense but he no longer has the legs to play it. I don’t care who the rest of the team is, you aren’t going to beat many teams with a midfield like that.

Has any coach’s reputation been undone so quickly by losing one player? I know Pep is still Pep but the cliff they’ve driven off of without Rodri is wild. It’s like Belichick without Brady.

Is it Rodri or is it the potential off-field issues along with the rumors of Pep leaving prior to the extension?

It feels like the "magic" and mystique has left the building.

It's Rodri. Their win record % in the PL goes down 15% without him in the line-up.

The off-field stuff have been there for god knows how long. The lawsuit has been there for how many years now? Atleast 6? No end in sight, still.

I feel like the decline has been more than 15% (not the stat, but the quality of the team)

There's definitely more to it. They've had some injuries every year, whether it's Haaland, KDB or someone else, but they've always managed to get through those by locking down defensively.

Now, KDB is constantly banged up, Foden and Grealish are shells of themselves and they can't stop leaking goals defensively without Rodri. It's not just about Rodri but when he's playing, he's not only a great defensive midfielder but also the player who sets up that defense. You can see him constantly telling guys where to go, who to cover and all of that stuff. Who does that now?

I think Arsenal needs Odegaard in a similar way. With him they're a top team, without him they're mid.
