OT: Discusión del Fútbol (EPL, FIFA, LIGA, USMNT, USWNT, MLS, etc) - Parte Seis

It's Rodri. Their win record % in the PL goes down 15% without him in the line-up.
That was when he went down in September also. An even more telling stat at that time was their loss rate with him was 10.9% and it jumped to 33.3% without him, and again that was when it was confirmed he was out for the season.

They were a much worse team without him in previously but some questionable personnel decisions are absolutely coming home to roost now as their midfield is simply awful now.

I think Arsenal needs Odegaard in a similar way. With him they're a top team, without him they're mid.
Yeah but I would argue they are still a good team without him, but he does take them to another level.

At this point in time Citeh are not in any way a good team without Rodri.

City without Rodri should be miles ahead of Arsenal without Odegaard
I’m not sure how you build a competitive midfield with what they have on that roster without Rodri. He just covered up so many mistakes that are simply disastrous without him.

lol….

Liverpool’s staff Christmas party at the city’s Anglican cathedral had to be shut down early due to fears over drug-taking.

The Premier League leaders had rented the cathedral, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, for around 500 staff to attend on Thursday night.

But the party was cut short after searches by venue officials — triggered by an unrelated medical emergency — revealed suspected drug paraphernalia in the toilets.

Jedi was phenomenal for Fulham today vs Liverpool. Fulham said they won’t sell him in January but money talks and both Liverpool and United are reportedly very interested in him and today’s match at Anfield didn’t hurt. Will be interesting to watch it unfold.

Speaking of City, they’re kicking off vs Everton right meow.
Pulling for Everton big time. In stark contrast to recent seasons their defense has been stellar of late. Other than the 4-0 loss to MU at the start of the month they've been incredibly stingy.

And as I write that Bernardo scores. FFFFFF

Can anyone explain why Brentford fans are booing Jesus and sometimes Partey every time they touch the ball?

The UK has crazy privacy and libel laws so news outlets can't report it like they do in the US, but over the last few years whenever you've seen an article around the lines of "a premier league player was questioned by police over allegations of sexual assault" the alleged player is Partey.

Jesus I have no idea though.

Arsenal really miss Saka. They should be stomping a red carded MU squad.

Good. That straight red was bullshit. Yellow would've been fine.
Yeah it was 100% a yellow for a professional foul but it was in no way anywhere remotely a straight red. One of the worst calls I’ve ever seen and the fact VAR confirmed it makes me question everything about VAR. If you can’t get that correct with VAR then what is the point?

This long, drawn-out, complicated explanation of scenarios for Arsenal--currently in 3rd--illustrates why this new UCL format is a bit of a pain in the ass from a fan standpoint. Imagine doing these calcs for EVERY team remaining, and trying to figure out who to root for and against.

Yeah but the added revenue of 2 additional group games and the additional play in knockout round to get to the round of 16 totally makes it worth it… ;)

Watching Arsenal/Girona but the real story today is probably going to be Man City and whether or not they lay another egg...

edit: I don't understand Arteta putting Trossard at CF and Sterling wide left. Trossard's crosses have been pinpoint accurate and he and Odegaard have been driving the offense in Saka's absence. Sterling doesn't have that same ability anymore and is better suited diving for penalties in the area.
