Felix red carded in his Chelsea debut.

10/10 "oof"
You could tell how upset he was over it but that was a nasty challenge. 10/10 oof indeed.

wow…wasn’t expecting that.

Everything else aside I chuckled a bit at the headline
Pretty sad…..I’d ban all Reyna’s for a year.

Suspend the kid for his parents being egotistical and overly protective? That doesn’t make sense. Plus, if it’s Gio or Gregg then Gregg will be on the first plane out yesterday.

They’re all a bit scummy. Wonder how Gio will be received by his teammates? Can’t feel great about the guy in their ranks IMO.

You’re not wrong but he’s a hell of a lot more valuable than Gregg is, and Gregg is the one that started this mess in the first place so let’s not lose sight of that. The Reynas were slimy and vindictive but they didn’t say a thing about this until they felt their son was mistreated publicly. Gregg is no innocent victim here and if he keeps his mouth shut this never happens.

And while I feel bad for Gregg’s wife because ultimately she’s the worst affected here, if Gregg’s ego and narcissism and over-inflated sense of self is the cause for his demise then so be it. The fact that he had to tell everyone in an audience that he was smarter and more clever than a kid being the start of his demise is fairly poetic.

Long way off to the next World Cup. After his behavior at the recent WC, making it about him over the team, some level of guilt by association for me on this one. I’d probably run it by the player leaders, but would give Gio some time away for the near future. I wouldn’t even say it was because of whatever, he just wouldn’t get selected for a while until I was sure that he understands that BS never happens again.

Gio has some blame I’m sure but he’s also a kid. You’d assume the adults would be adults. Gio acted like a spoiled selfish kid about playing time but you’d figure he’ll learn from that. If not, that’s on him. The adults should know better.

And Gio aside, how is it tenable for Gregg to come back? How can Gregg ever go back in that locker room with them knowing he aired private dirty team laundry during an interview? That trust is broken.

I also think it’s notable that the only players who voiced support for wanting Gregg back are players who would not be in the squad if Gregg didn’t have an affinity for MLS players. Long, Zimmerman, and Yedlin were the most vocal about wanting Gregg back. None of them have a chance in the 2026 cycle if a non-MLS coach is in charge.

Also l, a curious and good point you bring up… who are the player leaders? Pulisic, Adams, McKinnie?

I think it is important to remember that Claudio was complaining to Stewart and McBride about Gio’s lack of playing time during the World Cup. This was way before Berhalter made his comments at the leadership forum that he naively thought would stay off the record.

So the next manager knows that if Gio isn’t happy about something there is likely a very high chance that his daddy is going to complain to his friends and use his influence on his son’s behalf. And also that there are no lengths he and his wife won’t stoop to to get their way.

Who the f*** wants to deal with that shit? Let’s just cut to the chase and name either Claudio or his wife manager and get this over with. I guess Gio could be player/manager? But the bottom line is having him on your team undermines the manager’s ability to do anything that doesn’t align 100% with what Gio and his parents want.

Only in America…

Yeah, good points. But we also know that Gregg told Gio as soon as he arrived that he wouldn’t be playing much. The Reynas handled it all wrong but what a dumb thing to do by Gregg. He started all this. It’s another reason they need to go outside the good old boys network for their next manager. Gregg’s biggest resume bullet for “earning” the USMNT gig was that his brother was high up at US Soccer. Whenever an organization is run on nepotism and favoritism you can’t expect them to be a professional outfit. The USSF is a joke and this is the result.

And the adult Reynas should be personas non grata around US Soccer for the foreseeable future. I understand wanting to stand up and advocate for your kid but they got it all wrong. The worst kind of sports parent in America on display at the highest level.

I’d burn it all down. Stewart out. Gregg out. Adult Reynas banned indefinitely.

Richarlison pushes Ramsdale in the head after the match is over, and a Tottenham fan kicks Ramsdale in a full punting motion as he's retrieving his water bottle.

Stay classy, Spuds.

Trying to remember someone in the Premier League with a more punchable face and personality and I’m having trouble. Maybe Alexis Sanchez during the tail end of his tenure at Arsenal when he would pout every time someone didn’t pass and wouldn’t celebrate goals with his teammates? Help me out here
