Today I feel Argentinian

I'm thinking Belgium is also ripe for an upset...

crazy talk…..he’s playing the guys he thinks he can win with, right or wrong.

There was talk yesterday he’s saving Gio for England. That’s a strategy I can’t get behind. Win the other games and worry about England when it’s their turn.
You don’t think there is/was at least a little political pressure from US soccer to support the domestic league? I’m not saying there was a quota or anything but I 100% believe it played at least a small factor in the squad selection.

At this point in tournament? The pressure should be on winning…..and I believe it is.

Germany

Turns out Low wasn't the problem
Freaking brutal showing….almost 2-0 first half to this….

You mispelled "Germany".

Japan looked pretty impressive. They could make some noise in this tournament. I'm predicting quarterfinals.

Canada dominated that 1st half and that foul in the pass back sequence from Hazard should have been another penalty.

Lucky for Belgium. They are lucky to have Courtois.

They are lucky to have him. How does a linesman at this level miss a clear back pass?

Spain will send Germany home, should be interesting game

Brazil looking like semifinal probably, don't like their bench though

didn't watch France yet, but I think EN, FR, ES and BE should be in contention with BR. Courtois is one man army, have to respect that.

Huge early game today... If Wales win then the US are in trouble. Lose to England and you face must-win game against Iran while England only needs a draw to clinch the group win.

The actual game though... what a game by Iran. They've hit the post so many times and had so many glorious chances and somehow the game is still 0-0.

Considering how lucky the Wales was against the US too it's obvious who is the luckiest team of the tournament so far.

At least there was 2018.

Well, the path is clear now… beat Iran and they’re through. A win today would mean a draw works vs Iran which is much more preferable but either way beating Iran will do the trick. If they can’t win one game in the group stage then that’s pretty pathetic given their level of talent and the relative mediocrity of the group.

That draw vs Wales and Gregg’s coaching decisions look even worse this morning than it did when it first happened. The boys need to come out today and play like anything less than a win knocks them out because if we draw and all Iran needs is a draw vs the US then we might be screwed as they’ll just park the bus.

And if they win today and they’re in pole position to win the group, the difference is probably playing Ecuador instead of the Netherlands in the knockout round.

But Iran is pretty good. Turns out week 1 was a fluke.

Preferably take 3 points today but it might not be likely.

I didn't see the whole game but Iran needed a red card at the end of the game and a Welsh defensive letdown to win. Losing your top GK and going down to 10 men is probably the worst possible disadvantage and that's what Iran benefited from.

US shouldn't sleep on them, especially since they beat a Wales team the US tied, and they're 20th in the world while US is 16th, but I wouldn't strategize as though they were a powerhouse.

The Dutch were simply awful. That was a gift of a point. The game has passed van Gaal by. They’ll get out of their group but if he doesn’t change how they are playing they will be out in the round of 16 regardless of who they play.
