Pretty great weekend for US Soccer... Aaronson scores, Adams was terrifc, and Leeds/Major Leeds Soccer pummels Chelski, Josh Sargent had a brace for Norwich in their 2-0 victory and they blared "Born in the USA" in the stadium after the victory, Haji Wright scored two in his first start for Turkish club Antalyaspor, Jordan Pefok had a goal and an assist vs RB Leipzig, Gio Reyna returned from injury for BVB, Luca de La Torre made his La Liga debut and played against Real Madrid, Yunus Musah started for Valencia, Cameron Carter-Vickers started for Celtic.

Aaronson just interviewed on NBC. He's the first American-born player to score in England's top flight league for an American-born manager. What times we're living in.

And then there's Pulisic. #freeCP

If Liverpool lose or draw tomorrow, is it crazy to say the title chase has already been decided? City seem too good to let a 6 or 7 point lead slip away even if it is only three games in.

They should probably beat Newcastle first lol….but yeah City has soooo much talent you’re right probably barring a stretch of key injuries….also, weird year with WC…..could be a different season in the 2nd half.

besides…..watch Liverpool wreck Man U…..

Maybe it’s just of those days…..3-1 Newcastle….

I could have made a fortune on a Newcastle-Leeds-Brighton parlay…..

He seems best in a slashing offensive midfield position where he can split the defense or create plays in a 2 or 3 man game, and maybe be on the receiving end himself if he can find space. That includes beating guys to the middle and forcing fouls for free kicks.

I don't see him as a speedy winger who can beat the opposition backs with dribbling and cutting in open space, and he's not elite enough in size or speed or finishing to justify a center forward role, which wastes his other talents if he's just standing on the line waiting to make a run.

If he gets used in any of those latter positions it's probably because of too much depth or not enough.

Women's soccer may not get much publicity in this country but if you paid attention to it the Japan France quarterfinal in the U-20 women's world cup was awesome

Game goes to extra time. France score. 3-2.

France seconds from winning. Japan takes a shot, denied. But the refs call a very late penalty on France, since the keeper had tapped a Japanese player as she was clearing the ball and the contact was deemed a foul.

Japan score pk, game goes to penalties. Japan wins in penalties, 5-3.

This may have been the best ending to a women's game since the 2011? Wambach header in extra time tied the game against Brazil (US proceeded to win in shootout)

Men and women sports should not be compared any more than on would compare NASCAR to F1.

By all rights LIV should smash MU (on right now) but there's a weird vibe. Could be one of those sleeping giant games where MU right the ship.

Hedging a bit on DK

Sancho!

MU look like an entirely different team. Maguire on the bench. Young guns playing

Anthony Gordon to Chelsea seems bizarre. I honestly don't get why Chelsea would want him or let alone overpay massively to get him.

It’s a head scratcher……young, talented, English, has some size, sure, ticks a lot of boxes….it’s almost like they’re convinced he could explode surrounded by more talent. At least he wants to come to us.

I’ll take this over a Harry McGuire addition….

Auba is looking to close also…..scares me.

We should just buy Tammy Abraham back as quickly as possible next summer when the buyback period opens.

He's a left-winger like Sterling and has 4 goals to his name in the PL. Can also play as an attacking midfielder but in that role Chelsea have Conor Gallagher already who is better. He already exploded last year too and is currently behind another similar player in Mason Mount.

Harry Maguire thing was a bogus one for sure. Like so many other links to Chelsea this summer.
