Got through 5 of the 6 currently available Arsenal vids on Amazon Prime. Ep 4-5 deal a lot with the Auba saga.

Auba does not look good in this. Arteta documented many disciplinary issues and the one that caused him to be suspended was just the last straw.

Their FO, particularly Gaspar, come across as fairly average middle managers rather than brilliant, elite executives or sharks. I get that it's a hard job but there is something a little off there for a club that large.

It's amazing that it took reckless-ass Barcelona to bail them out on the Auba contract, and with ONE MINUTE TO SPARE before the deadline.

That said, Arteta and the players really shine. Saka and Martinelli are gems. Laca seems like a cool guy. Ramsdale is your typical mental keeper but better than Leno by a mile. Xhaka's image gets a real boost while some of the lower guys like Tavares can be seen struggling to stay above the waves.

Worth a watch. Final 3 episodes drop tomorrow.

I’m a little surprised he would want to step into that mess but if he didn’t think he was likely to play as much as he wanted at Madrid moving forward I guess I get it. Though I’m a little surprised Chelski did try to highjack it since they can offer Champions League football.

He’s going to be 35 when that contract ends so might not be pretty at that point but ManUre doesn’t care about that and need an increase in quality now, which this definitely provides. We’ll see how he adjusts to English football though, but I’m sure over a little bit of time he’ll be more than fine.

So what exactly is wrong with MU?

Is it goaltending poisoning from the net outward? Bad chemistry? Poor player management? Coaching? Shitty roster?

They have plenty of talent. It's like watching the NYR and TML teams from 20 years ago loading up on stars but tripping over their own wangs.

I know this isn't set in stone but it's an example from the net. I see TOP talent across midfield. I see OK talent behind them. So maybe no wonder they're outscored 1-6 in two games so far.

Guys like Maguire and McTominay and Fred seem like overrated plugs to me. I'm not sure about the others but Shaw and Dalot have name recognition.

As a squad they're not that old, at least compared to Man City and their stars other than Haaland, but they play like an old, weary, plodding team.

Just looking at their roster specs I think it's just bulk. Christ, they're a heavy team.

Man City: 7 outfield players over 160lbs
MU: 17 outfield players over 160lbs

218lbs for Maguire and that's probably being kind. More fish and less chips, mate.

That midfield is absolutely brutal until Bruno Fernandes wakes up. Wolves and nearly half of the PL has a better one. Sancho hasn't adjusted to PL yet and isn't really a good fit if Ronaldo stays (who is, though). Rashford has been brutal for a while now.

I see team lucky to make it to top-6. Casemiro is a good start because as is that midfield is terrible and their defense needs a lot of help.

Chelski needs a replacement for Kante IMO, as he is just too fragile these days. He’s great when he plays but just misses too much time.

I was envisioning a de Jong / Casemiro midfield axis for them with being in the Champions League being the key to stealing them from ManUre.

You suck also Mike Dean….
Could be a costly mistake for Chelsea...that's a 4-point swing and the stakes in that race are in hundreds of millions.

He should be playing over Gallagher and Havertz. Probably over Loftus-Cheek as well. That said, he prefers the left so once they signed Sterling his agent should have demanded a move. This is the worst possible scenario for him in a World Cup year.
His game is a bit flawed for the Premier League sadly. He’s a bit frail, but I would love it if he could solidify his place in the starting lineup….just hasn’t been worthy of a guaranteed spot.

Plays a different regular position than RLC, Gallagher, Havertz.….

And Gallagher that they just picked up plays his position as well.
CP is more of a wing at his point.

CP has played all over for Chelsea including at wingback which is part of the problem. He doesn’t fit there and doesn’t truly fill a need or a position, and because of that he needs to leave. It’s doing Chelsea nor Pulisic any good having him as a utility player and bench warmer.

Was just about to post this….he has a lack of true identity on a team with no overall identity right now.

He‘s on now….let’s see.
