Most of us will be if it's Dave.

C'mon now...

BTW, my sources (which consist of the neighborhood dog, the mailman, and the cashier from the local grocery store) say the Devils are leaning towards Slaf and ONLY Slaf.

See? I got "sources", too. :p:
Just because that neighborhood dog called the Mukhamadullin pick before it was made is no reason to presume he has an in with the scouting department.

The closer we get the more I’ve slowly shifted towards Cooley over Jiricek. Probably still go Jiricek but it’s close to even. It’s one of those 2 for me
What makes you like Jiricek so much? Not saying it's not a good opinion, just curious to read what you see in him!

Physical RHD, 6'3 and growing. NHL slap shot, wrist shot. Potential 60 point defensemen with the ability to score 15-20 goals. His floor is Erik Cernak. Ceiling is limitless.

I think you’re likely at least getting a “fine” top 4 guy with the upside being really high. I could definitely see him settling in as a really good two way top pair D. The skating has a bit of ways to go but I don’t think it’ll be awful. He does take a lot of risks currently but I look at that as a positive and think over time he’ll learn what works and what doesn’t work. The reason I’ve shifted more towards Cooley is that I don’t think there’s going to be as much risk involved with him. I think he’s a relatively safe bet to be like a high end 2nd line/low end 1st line guy

Ceiling is not limitless and his floor certainly isn’t that high. He also isn’t gonna grow anymore heigh wise at over 18 and a half. His skating needs work.

None of what you just said says limitless ceiling anyways. Big physical defensmen with a really good shot doesn’t say limitless potential whatsoever.

His skating is not an issue. I talk to real scouts. You talk to Glenwo.
Ah okay.

Let us trust your mystical sources then, Mr. Eklund. :loony:

Get out of here with that stuff!!!

There are 3 rookies in front of him in goals, two are from his draft class (2020), drafted after him, the other is from the year before (2019) his draft, taken at the bottom of the first round. Those are his peers.

In points he is the 9th AHL Rookie with 3 others from his draft class in front of him. .all drafted after him.

There was nothing "special" about his season. Certainly it was a very good season. But when talk like "2nd best all-time" or "you have to have a very good shot to score that many goals* happens..... it's nonsense.
Lets just ignore games played then as well. You sure have a way of making clearly biased arguments against Holtz.

If this Pastrnak thing is legitimate and not smoke and noise, he would be one of the names I would imagine has be on Fitz' magical list of names that he would move the 2nd for - pending an extension of course.

For heavens a first line of Bratt- Hughes- Pasta, with Pasta still fairly young, there is no doubt that is exactly what this team needs. That would be quite the jolt.

Yes he should definitely be on the list if that’s true.

And he brings Bergeron with him.

Dude...you..uhh..do know I was being sarcastic, right?

I thought you did because that's how I took your initial response.

Now you're harping on it a bit too much and I'm wondering...WTF?
You’ve seen me post enough to know that when I’m posting about a talking dog I’m being silly.
