We should give the pick up if it's that mediocre. 2014 draft is ultra-deep and given the current state of the org, I could see us finishing in the bottom 3rd.

You know what would be mediocre? Giving up the 12th overall pick and then making the playoffs next year and having a mid-20's pick.

Wherever we pick this year, that player will immediately become our best prospect.

Absolutely not happened, we aren't finishing bottom 3rd next year. Giving it up this year would be foolish.

Vanderbeek and Lou need to work magic in the offseason. I'm skeptical given the holes. If Lou has to forfeit a top 7 pick in 2014, given that deep talent pool, he's going to crucified by the fans as well as the press. The ball is in Vanderbeek's court right now.

we're still at the #10 pick with 1 game left to play, just hope that Phoenix and Dallas win 1 of their 2 games and we'll still have it.

Pretty much what I was just saying.

Dallas needs to get some points and ditto to Phx. I'm crossing the fingers to stay at 10. We should land Shinkaruk or something with that and that would be epic.

Patty is staying, Zubs is staying.

Clarkson might take a hike with his insane contract demands and we will be better for it.

I'm a good judge of character, and it doesn't surprise me one bit about Zubes saying he wants to stay. Always had a feeling he really wanted to genuinely stay. Always had a feeling Parise genuinely did NOT want to stay.

I do have to admit that I also thought Zajac might very well not want to stay which I was very wrong on.

How about this? Why don't we just keep the number 12 pick this year or 14th or whatever, and then trade it. Get some IMMEDIATE help, and then we have a nice contending team next year, and we forfeit next years hopefully top 20-30 pick?

Instead of wishing we tanked then just go out with some pride, and trade the pick for immediate help rather than draft someone who might not be ready for 2 years or more? Why don't we hope the rumors were true on that.

100% correct. Much more likely scenario then giving this one up and believing we will be a bottom 3 team. Come on now.

Rumors from a month or two ago his camp wanted 5.5. I don't think one NHL expert expects him to get close to that though since he isn't worth 5 even. 4.5 will be a stretch.

Oh, rumors.

I don't think 5 or even 5.5 is that crazy for a shorter contract.

Gelinas looked pretty comfortable, just has gotta bulk/strengthen up because based on tonight, he got banged around easily

Kovy had a horrible defensive game notably the first goal as Cooke was the guy he was late on getting back to

What really hurts are numerous no shows against the Islanders right now.

Say we showed up 3 times to play the Islanders that we didn't we may have at least went 2-1-0 or even 2-0-1 or possibly even 3-0-0. We could have been where they are now, and their sorry pathetic franchise could have been in our miserable spot right now. And showed up to play the Rangers last week, and didn't absolutely fall asleep the last seconds of the two Florida games.

First time going through a 48 game season (Yeah, I know the Devils won a Cup, but won 2 after in full seasons), and it was junk.

Rather this never happen again, but knowing Buttman and company it will.

The Florida road trip hurts the most. It killed the team mentally after what was a good, but tough loss to Ottawa.
