Well, Yegor...

Maybe Conte should trade our top 4 rounds for the entire 5-7th rounds where the Devils seem to find all their impact players :). I kid.

Jones and Morganti were complementary of Shara. I also stunned at how poised Ty Smith has been for the Devils. He's ridiculous. I don't think we've seen a defenseman like this. He's a smarter, more responsible Zidlicky.
The rate conte credit :sarcasm:

To put it in perspective, only 40 rookies have scored 24+ goals in the last 20 years. All of them are pretty good players, career 2nd liners at worst.

That's 40 out of 732 rookies that have played 50+ games. Top 6% of rookie goal scorers.
Not to take away from Sharangovich’s season at all because he’s been very good and a 24 goal pace in your rookie season is great. I’d just guarantee that it’s quite a bit more than 40 that have scored at a 24 goal pace when you factor in that a lot of rookies haven’t played full 82 game seasons. Your comparing his 50 game pace converted to 82 games to other rookies full seasons whether they played close to 82 games or not. So if someone else had 23 goals in 51 games they wouldn’t show up in your stats even tho they scored well over a 24 goal pace.

Secondly I wouldn’t say they’re all career 2nd liners at worst. I just looked at some of the top ones, didn’t go very far down the list at all and one of the best is Michael Grabner who had 34 in 76 games and then never scored over 30 again and was not a career 2nd liner.

Not trying to be a downer. It’s exciting to see him do well. He’s obviously a good young player for and us who I think can be a consistent 20 goal scorer. Just think people should calm down a bit and I don’t think he’s the long term top 6 guy for Hughes if we want to be a contender. More of a 3rd line guy.

pull a ditka and send 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 for a 1st rounder :sarcasm:

I think you are overestimating how many points a typical 2nd liner has, which is pretty common.
