Because it's all rookies. Team doesn't have many AHL vets, especially on D.

We also raided the AHL team along with the taxi squad stuff, and the AHL season is a bizzare mess.

Because they lack a lot of good players that are up with the devils this year, and Ahl devils are a weak team compared to other teams in the divison. And when you only play like 2-3 other teams the whole season, the losses add up

I think you are overestimating how many points a typical 2nd liner has, which is pretty common.

I don’t think the goal is to have typical 2nd liners if you want to win a Stanley cup. I think he’s good enough to play in the top 6 I just don’t think he’s good enough to be one of a contending teams top 6 forwards. I also don’t see his production getting a whole lot better than it is right now and that’s fine because he’s an effective player and 20 goal scorers are valuable.

AHL teams tend to live or die on the strength of tweener NHL vets like Cumisky, Morrow, Tangradi, Melchiori, etc. We really don't have many of those this year, especially on D.

Because they are blockers. This year at least with nothing on the line they seemed to just want to let as many kids get time as possible.

I imagine they will sign some of those guys for next year.
