From the day of the trade before it went down;

His next post was the confirmation of the trade and players involved.

Dismissive?

The only thing regarding Kovalchuk I remember him being truly dismissive about is the rumors of him returning to the Devils in some super slick Louphole the past few seasons when the league and Devils have clearly stated what it would take for that to happen. Fans keep throwing up questions to him about Kovy and I completely understand his eye-rolling responses to them because it's absurd enough what gets tossed around here let alone from the random uber fan who doesn't stay up on the NHL like we do.

Im talking about in his blog, he completely dismissed it outright when the rumor started on sirius.

Also, he use to take risk/report what sources say. From 2010:

http://fireandice.northjersey.com/f...on-not-losing-sleep-over-trade-rumors-1.96167

A source said today that the Colorado Avalanche are interested in acquiring Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner if the team is willing to move him as part of its salary cap space clearing moves.

The Avalanche believe that Langenbrunner's veteran leadership would be valuable to their young team and have plenty of cap space to take on the 35-year-old right wing's $2.8 million cap hit. Removing Langenbrunner's salary would help the Devils' cap woes significantly, but they might not be willling to move their captain. If they are unable to pull off other deals to clear the $4 million to $5 million they need for flexibility, they might have little choice, though.

Langenbrunner's contract includes a no-trade clause, so he would have to waive it for any trade involving him to be completed.

Langenbrunner did not play in tonight's preseason game against the Rangers, but that was so the Devils could take a look at rookie Alex Vasyunov on the line with Patrik Elias and Jason Arnott.

that quote was from his blog.

I don't have access to his comments on the blog, it seems the blog survived and the comments didn't. Much like how people here enjoy his interactions with fans on twitter. It was days before the wheels were put in motion for the trade. He aslo started to post KHL rumors at the time for IK17 pending ufa.

The tournament isn't until after September 10th as opposed to the Traverse City ones that are happening relatively soon. I would imagine we won't find out until closer to the 10th.

Matteau can't play he is off his entry level contract. Same for others who aren't on one.

Are you sure about that?

Wild Roster has tryouts in their roster: http://wild.nhl.com/v2/ext/WilddotcomPDFs/2015 Traverse City Roster.pdf

Vancouvers include 4 from this year's draft:

I agree with you about Matteau. I would just move up the right wingers, with Blandisi on the first line.

Try outs yes, because tryouts are eligible for ELCs

Matteau and Wedgewood will probably be the two off that list that are ineligible now. Appleby will take Wedgewood's spot. Plus there is one more invite from the prospect camp that got a PTO.

I couldn't remember the 3rd guy :)

The last spot is between him and Baddock lol

I'm sure there will be an injury or two as well.

hey guys..not sure if this is the right thread don't post much just read, but I was wondering if anyone could help me with the seating at the rock I am looking to get tickets in black seats with the Devils logo on them (im guessing they are called club?) or something like that.

Do these seats include the access to all you can eat/drink restaurant ? If not what does. I couldn't find a link to anything that shows what seats have what.

It makes no sense for Clowe to retire. Walking away from millions when you're a professional athlete is never a good idea unless you are about to make more. His contract is insured and he won't count against the cap. He's harming no one by taking the Pronger route.

Yeah, having Clowe hang around on LTIR is one of those things that doesn't really matter to the Devils as an organization. Who knows, maybe we'll end up trading him so some other team can reach the cap floor someday.

Neither affects the team as you get cap relief for LTIR. Retirement helps the owners save money, LTIR helps Clowe as he keeps getting paid his contract salary.

Thanks. This is what I thought....which is why I don't get what "decision" needs to be made. There's no reason for him to retire.

If I'm Clowe, I definitely go the LTIR route to at least get as much money as I can before ultimately leaving the sport.

BTW, Sal is retiring. I think that's the announcement upcoming. Call it a hunch. :sarcasm:

(notice the sarcasm emoticon since I'm aware that the announcement was already made)
