I would really like the NHL to issue some sort of statement and, if they got it wrong, at least acknowledge it. It won't change anything but it's the right thing to do. It was really not a good call.

The league has made everything so vague that it's actually impossible to tell if it was a good, bad or indifferent call to be honest. I just expect a huge majority of those call to go against us because it seems the biggest determining factors are:
1. The player being implicated and
2. The team that player plays for.
It's like those things supercede the rule book.

Nobody understands goalie interference not even the referees. They just go by their gut and then justify it later using the vague language in the rulebook.
For me, that was a pretty easy good goal.
Also, the referee gave Tampa way too long to review and decide if they wanted to challenge.

there should be a 60 second clock after a goal goes in that you get to review something. Once that clock expires, thats it.

They won't acknowledge they got it wrong because they were the ones that made the call in the first place. I think it's a bad call but in general, touch a goalie in the crease and a goal won't count. This is the main determinant of whether a goal counts due to goalie interference. The problem with last night's call is that Tatar is clearly pushed into the goalie.
Was it Toronto or the refs on-ice with the iPad?
Either way, it's annoying. Why wasn't play immediately started? I don't get a lot of what happened.

honestly i don’t like him but i don’t see why he can’t put up better numbers than vitek has recently. still want schmid to get a chance to keep going

It was enough that they sent Schmid back for this piece of shit, suck goaltender last time, but they can't do it this time.
He sure hasn't put up better numbers than Vitek since Vitek has entered the NHL.
The difference is that Vitek is just an average goalie, but Blackwood is a BAD one.
Schmid is a question mark, but I'd like to see where it goes. Blackwood as a Devil really needs to end. It's basically torture at this point.
I hope they don't send Schmid back if he has a bad game tomorrow night.

Also current score in the game , time left in the game , and who has the momentum also plays a part in penalties and calls like goalie interference. It’s complete bullshit. Zero consistency with how they call off side and goalie interference as well. I have no clue any more what interference is anymore as I have seen it go both ways where I 100% thought the call woild be called one way and ended up the other way.

I wouldn't expect much from Blackwood being a hot hand.
But BAD goalies have good streaks all the time and fool people into thinking they're not actually bad goalies.
I'm sure Vegas fans are feeling that about Jonathan Quick right about now.

Same here. I just want whoever is playing the best out of the 3 to be in net. I kmow I don’t want MB to be our goalie next year and beyond, and I don’t know if VV can be a long term true #1 , but I don’t care . Scmid or one of those two can string together a good stretch of games long enough to hopefull get the job done. I do hope that Schmid can be that guy as he could be a long term solution in net , but with the other two , VV I guess could be but no way MB can be a lomg term solution as he has shown for too long he is too inconsistent and injury prone to invest long term on.
Im just hoping that VV doesn’t end up being like a Kuhdobin or other goalies that have had stretches of very good play , then fall off in play and eventually fade away .

Ehh, we are in a playoff spot, I absolutely don't want to throw away games, but if he's going to come back at some point and have to play, I would would rather him sink or swim now than randomly in the playoffs.

we've seen matt murray and craig binnington win the stanley cup as rookies - just play whoever is hot and if that's schmid then great, i don't see any reason to hold back because he's a rookie honestly.
if it's blackwood then fine, i still don't want him around after this year but there's no point in sacrificing the team for subpar goaltending performances and I don't think that they will. i hope vanacek figures it out or if it's fatigue he gets a rest

Well he’s spent most of the past few years putting up recent vitek numbers for unreasonably long stretches, so I wouldn’t be incredibly hopeful he can outplay vitek

I don't know why anybody would have any faith in Blackwood. We've been doing this for 2 years now and he still sucks. He's sitting pretty at .900% this year though, which he should probably get a ribbon on the wall of Gaylord for that to celebrate his mediocrity.

Even with his recent very poor stretch, his numbers are still identical to what they were in Washington before he got here.
So while I've been as down on him as anyone lately, he's just not as good as maybe we he had hoped or thought he may be?
Something similar happened to him in his last 10 or so games played last year. He was up above .915% (I think?) and slid to .908% by season's end, which is where he's at right now. I looked it up last week though and don't feel like doing it again right this second.
And they started giving Samsonov more starts in Washington because of it. Samsonov got even worse, but they were winning games 4-3 and 5-4.

i don't have faith in blackwood and i want him gone, and i've said as much, i'm just agnostic - i don't have any loyalty to one particular goalie over another i just want whoever is playing best at a given time. that's not saying that i think it will be blackwood, i dont, but if it is then great

But I'm afraid if he has one poor game, especially if it's the next one, they'll toss him back to Utica with this shit head being healthy.
Watch them start him in Florida again and that's where he makes his first start back again, only this time he serves up a steaming pile of shit.
I get the feeling he probably won't be dressed this weekend though.
So Schmid may get at least two more games, regardless.

It’s good to have a 3rd goalie that has a prayer of being average rather than dipping into AHL fodder. I’d be extremely annoyed if they send Akira down though, that would be indefensible.
