Honestly, I really hope we pass Carolina. Not because I am worried about the Rangers. I actually think we match up pretty well against them. But because I hate to suck all the emotion out of the team in round 1.

Passing Carolina is more likely than not. Really think this Timo trade re-energizes the team and they roll even more than they are rolling now.

The time is now (and the next 10 years)!

Not afraid of anyone.

Honestly some of the main board only Devils trolls posters are not my personal favorites, half the time I want to dump on them myself. Not always the best team representation lol. (All you are personal faves!)

There is trying to be neutral and not a homer and then there is whatever supposed Devils fans are doing in that thread.

We haven't gotten to where we are by accident and we just got better with a big time forward that gives us everything we needed for our top 6.

That said I wouldn't say we are second favorites for the cup or even the east. I think the east is Boston and then it's really tight between the next 5 teams which includes us.

We can beat anyone in the east but we can just as easily lose and nothing is going to come easy.

Winning the division could give us some wiggle room with less of a bloodbath first round

The entire Eastern Conference playoffs are going to be a bloodbath. It is my firm conviction that some of the teams fighting to make the playoffs out East -- like Pittsburgh or the Islanders -- might be at the top of the conference standings right now if they played out West. It's just that big of a discrepancy.

I would say there are 7 teams in the NHL right now I would deign to call "great": Tampa, Boston, Toronto, Carolina, New Jersey and NY Rangers. Then there's a handful of teams which I would call "dangerous" in the sense that they have the capacity to get hot and make a long playoff run: Pittsburgh, Edmonton and Vegas immediately come to mind.

But the reality is that a healthy Colorado might be the best bet for the Cup. I could see them mowing down the first three rounds in 15 games if they get in gear. There's no way this happens out East. First round match-ups will likely be brutal: Toronto vs. Tampa, NY Rangers vs. Carolina/New Jersey, and then Boston and Carolina/New Jersey vs. whatever two bubble teams finish the year the hottest. We need to keep in mind that the East bubble teams would be shoo ins to make the playoffs out West. Can we really see Seattle or LA finishing ahead of Pittsburgh or Florida if they were in the same division? Because I sure can't.

As a hockey fan, I'm really looking forward to the Eastern Conference playoffs this year. As a Devils fan, I'm going to start hoarding antacids.

Id love if Mercer could anchor our third line like Kadri did for a few years in Toronto
Dawson Mercer's upside is as a 30+ goal, point-per-game forward who can excel at 5x5, the power play or the penalty kill. He's a guy you'll want on the ice whether up or down one goal late. That's a guy you want in your top 6, in my mind. The way I see it, get a checking line center to be your checking line center, don't stunt a young kid of Mercer's immense potential.

Rico always seemed like someone that is just destined to come back at some point. Even throughout those dark years, he seemed to truly love being a Devil. I’d love that.

We all know there is an elderly bald man on Long Island that wants him a lot more

I try to avoid the main board as much as possible. At least the insanity on this board is relatively predictable and familiar.

I'm not sure I'd call Mercer flanked by Sharangovich and Palat a checking line, although I guess if Haula were on his wing it would be questionable.

Western finalist will got broken opponent after Battles of the East.
Mercer doing great things as sophomor slumper in his 3rd year after draft. He is a better player than ugly faced Lafreniere now. Why people low on him still is a question for me. Anyway opinions don't change fact and will not effect on the game.

I hope Devils will give a chance to Holtz this season once or twice to play on the wing with Nico or Jack or Haula. I believe he can be more productive even as a part of Palat - Haula - Holtz line than on the wing of Mcleod/Boqvist/Sharangovich. Meier/Tatar-Nico/Jack-Holtz could be fun try. I don't wanna trade Alexander in the moment. We should try him and show that the plan is to use him as a part of main force. I prefer a chance for 30+ goals scorer than legit middle six player for two years.

wtf is this

Comcast was only getting charged a little over $10 a month, I believe, before dropping MSG.

That was obviously across all subscribers rather just people who want MSG but Comcast made the decision the value proposition wasn’t there for their customers.

I have a hard time believing many people will pay the $30 a month for MSG+ since that’s so far outside the cost of most streaming offerings.
