The problem with Boqvist was he was a bottom six guy who couldn't do much on special teams.They bailed on him because those guys weren't at all penciled into the lineup - McLeod was here at the beginning of the year, and Foote was waiver-eligible so he wasn't likely to be sent down at all. Boqvist is an ES-only player who was playing 4th line minutes, and who passed through waivers at the beginning of the season. They didn't want to keep a guy who had worked his way out of the starting lineup and who had no real role when he was in the lineup. As a first callup from Utica, he'd be fantastic. It's easier for a guy to do that sort of thing in another organization.
With that said, I'd probably take him over what we trotted out this year. I think we had to consider the McLeod situation as well.
