Main board is now pinning him as the conspirator for the strip club incident.

At least it's rational over there.
I still think that was somewhat fake-ish news.

I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of them were in the strip club that night, just as I wouldn't be surprised if players are in a strip club/bar the night before any game, but I think that was mostly fake.

Strip club? I don't think there is even one on that block....my Guess is was at Oceans 23.
The strip club in question was in Tampa the night before game 4 of the Tampa series in the second round last year.

I can't remember if they ever gave the name of the place or if the ''Anonymous sources'' wouldn't give up that much.

I just heard something about Brunette getting a DUI, I didn't get a chance to read through this thread yet, but I will say I hope he goes away for a long time followed by years of programs and therapy.

The man obviously needs a lot of help, more than any normal group can give him, but only after he serves his time, and I hope its a long time at that.

I'll catch up on the rest in a bit, just gotta make a drink quick.

My guess is that if you asked most people they wouldn’t think you can get a DUI in a golf cart. My understanding is that in some places you literally can’t sit in a vehicle’s driver seat with the ability to start the vehicle if you are over legal limit. Really extreme stuff. But then again some places allow carelessness to count as intent at times which is wrong as I see it but the law is a cruel mistress as they say. I’m glad it’s just a goofy one off. He likely will have some repercussions from this though. The anti drunk driving groups are dead serious about even these sorts of incidents. I would be surprised if he serves any jail time beyond his booking and arraignment but it will cost him a pretty penny and I won’t be surprised if he has to perform some significant community service and has something on his record subject to Florida’s expungement laws. Of course the people licking their chops and going to Vegas will be his car insurer after they get the conviction and raise his rates to the stratosphere.

yep...can get a charge that way... they call it "care and control" which i think is bullshit....cant hurt anyone if youre not driving it

.... if someone is too drunk to drive and they decide to sleep it off in their vehicle then they made the better decision to not drive.

let's punish them though.

or even this scenario ....you're drunk and go out to your car parked on the road for the sole purpose to grab something you forgot (say, ...a phone charger....a lighter...whatever..) and a cop pulls up and they give you a ticket for C & C

f*** off with that shit....it borders on orwellian thought crime or the ideas from that movie with stallone, wesley snipes and sandra bullock

Crazy how the one minor detail of the golf cart immediately changed the story from heinous to hilarious.

Like he still shouldn't have been driving it, and throwing your wife under the bus golf cart after you get pulled over isn't a great look, but at least this way it's way less dangerous.

Depending on the judge a lot of times they sniff through the pettty bs cases and outright dismiss them or plead them down to something very minor.

We made some horrific picks in that era. The "family lineage" picks are some of the worst. Of course our very first ever draft pick was one of those, the awful Rocky Trottier. Passing on Michel Petit, Dave Andreychuk, Tomas Sandstrom, and more... wow.
Yet Lou stupidly passed on Paul Stastny twice! for Bergfors and Frazee! :banghead:

2nd year players can improve their all-around game, including his skating. He’ll never be Mc David, but as he gets stronger he can get better. Their two different types of players. One is speed and skill, yet he’s more of a perimeter player. While Mercer is grittier and will go to the net and score dirty goals. While Bratt is better, Mercer is the type of player you need. Can’t have all skilled players. Plus the guy can play the middle as well as the wing. It’s to bad he isn’t a bit bigger.
