Why do they even call it a “Reverse” retro?

A reverse retro almost sounds like future. As in the opposite of retro.

I’ve never been able to figure this out in the two years or whatever that they’ve been doing this.

"The Phillies, perhaps anticipating the revival of manifest destiny, were supposed to wear a 77-star American flag sleeve patch. The actual patch, however, had only 60 stars. (Patch production is apparently a fraught enterprise in the future.)"

MLB was able to successfully predict Fanatics taking over the sporting apparel world.

The Jersey jersey is at least an endearing kind of stupid.

Hat hat sold out way too fast but limited quantity for charity so I get it. I hope they ‘cause I need one too.

Were the Jersey jerseys just for one season or are they the alternates moving forward?

The colors were reversed in the 1st run, when possible.

In many cases that didn’t matter much, the most memorable color reverse might be this:

It gave the series a “twist” and a name, but the reversal didn’t even apply or make sense in every case last time.

Icethetics mentioned that Adidas is not going to na as strict to the model this time so that doesn’t even matter. It’s just the name.

Edit: Changed the comment about Habs because they have worn blue.

Because the Habs never have worn blue before. (Maybe it was memorable to me because I thought it was one of the prettier RRs.)

habs have worn blue....albeit a different design and pre-nhl they brought back the look for their 100th anniversary... but ya, never as a regular thing

The logo should just be the traditional logo and it'd be fine. Having said all that, I actually grew to not hate the Jersey jersey so that's a plus, I guess?
Maybe it’s because we wore it so dang much that my dislike of them grew and grew, but we are historically a predominantly red team. The green switched to black but red has forever been our dominant color. Just doesn’t feel like the Devils without it. The problem is made worse by not using the logo.

Just too far a deviation from our identity.
