Not even a little bit, hence why I don't have strong emotional opinions about any of it.Fine. Do you have any information?

Well hopefully the agent gets canned after this. That one can go either way.It has nothing to do with his agent doing what he “wants”, his agent has practically zero experience negotiating big deals like this in the NHL. He’s a Swedish agent who mostly handles players in European leagues.
He’s had one big NHL client before this, Ullmark. Ullmark never had a multi year deal, beyond a two-year minimum deal after his ELC, until he signed his 5 year/5m deal with Boston.
He had other guy with a real deal, the defenseman Gustav Forsling. Forsling has the only multi year RFA deal he ever negotiated, 3 years/2.67m.
You don’t typically want to be the biggest fish of a guy who almost never negotiates these types of deal. Loyalty is nice but you shouldn’t stay with an agent out of loyalty if he’s out of his league because you became a star.
Eichel was using some dumb local Boston agent with his dust-up with the Sabres and he only made it worse. That mess got a whole lot better when he moved to a bigger, more professional agent.
That was a bit of a jump. Still, I am absolutely certain he doesn’t want to play here long term if this goes to arbitration, which it will. I don’t know what to tell you. Just wait.
Called it.
That's Neal, from twitter, never heard of him?who the f*** is neal mchale?
I wish I could share that attitude, but given that we're the second most futile team in the past decade and I'm a pessimist in general....Not even a little bit, hence why I don't have strong emotional opinions about any of it.
No I don't believe SV% is particularly telling even in medium sample sizes but it's the only thing you guys seem to believe in, and @Guttersniped whole 'well, if you take away the last drubbing Bernier's Sv% was .914' garbage was what got me on this road.it's SV% for some reason, but tomorrow SV% will be fake and something else will be real.
Revisionist history. People were pretty positive about Clarkson for a while before 2012. Granted it wasn't much more than he seemed to be a valuable 3rd liner that could step up the line up if needed. True everyone knew his 30 goals was a fluke (largely due to Elias) and didn't want to pay what he'd get as a result, but otherwise wanted to keep him. He was definitely more than just a goon. Hell in 09-10 he was averaging over .5 PPG after missing some time due to the leg break from Chara's slapshot.
I get being worried and pessimistic, but it's one thing to state those worries and its another to state what you think might happen as fact and try to convince everyone else to feel the same way, or in a way that makes it seem like a done deal.I wish I could share that attitude, but given that we're the second most futile team in the past decade and I'm a pessimist in general....
Pretty much. He was a 3rd liner that couldn't skate. But he could score on ocassion. And he was a pretty tough player. All around a fan favorite. He scored 170 points over 426 games with NJ - little less than a 40 point pace. Yes, that includes his 'big year' but you can't take that away from him.
He got the crowd going. Old school type. No way we were giving him that contract or anything close... but while he was here, he made many of us happy.
If Bratt gets a 1-year deal, then he can't sign an extension until January 1, 2023.
Clarkie was great. I loved him. Was never going to give him that contract, but was always happy to have him on the team.
I'm trying to think - he would fight anyone, right? Nobody he was particularly scared of that I can think. I remember Avery dodging him so many times.
One down, two to go
Exactly. They probably both know his value for a one year deal is around 5-5.5, so they each go a million each way. That's how arbitration salary submissions generally work.
Both sides low/high-ball the amounts and if it goes to arbitration the judge usually awards something close to the middle.
Yeah more Clarkson talk, we can worry about Bratt after we find out what contract is signed.
I really miss that guy. He was one of my wife's favorite players and she found it hard to care about the Devils once Marty and Clarkson left. He was always so positive, a terrible hockey player, but he was the last "I'd bleed for this team" guy this team ever had. Maybe one of the last in the league?
I'm really glad he had a chance to go to his hometown team with some sort of hero's welcome, but it's a real shame how it all ended. If I saw him I'd want to give him a hug lol.
