Anyone following this Josh Weil saga on twitter ? He's a member of the front office on the marketing side it seems. Looks like he said a couple things about how agressive the hockey ops team plans on being this off- season. He deleted most of it now as some people were being dicks to him. https://twitter.com/JoshW_NJD

No but I'm a messy bitch who loves drama, what did he say that got deleted?

What were people being dicks to him about ? Just not believing that he worked for the Devils? I'm sure he didn't say anything specific, so just twitter being twitter?

I love the pumping of Mercer too, a guy who stopped scoring as soon as Bratt came off his line.

But he's better than Nico, right?

That's really not true. They were only together for about 21 games in the first half. Mercer scored as much in the 2nd half as the first.

His last 10 games were a blemish for sure. He scored a goal in his last game but went 10 games without a point before that.

But in half's, he scored 22 points in his first 41 games. 9 goals and 13 assist

20 points in last 41 games. 8 goals and 12 assist.

Would've been nice if he ended the season a little stronger but a 42 point season season on a 27 win team in his first isn't bad at all

Yes, he then played with noted disappointment Jack Hughes. Pretty tough gig to score with those two.

It's almost every from here though lol.
But it's really not, you were thinking that everyone in here is biased towards Nico so you thought it would be a good idea to go outside here and show how non-Devils fans who agree with you that Nico is no good. Back to the drawing board Jim!

Bottom line is we're not the only ones who think Nico is a helluva hockey player.

So first it was he quit scoring as soon as Bratt left him and now it's anyone can score playing with Bratt and Jack?

Keep going you'll eventually find one that makes sense

No - all I'd argue is that he didn't drive much offense on his own.

I fail to see anything about his season or his play that makes him better or more promising than Nico.

No one gave a value...what is Nico's value? No Chicago fan came running in saying shit ya I would give up DeBrincat for Nico....No Calgary fan came running in saying I would give up Tkachuk for Nico.

I wasn't looking for any sort of agreement...I was looking for what someone would give up for him.

So allegedly PLD has told the Jets he’s going to UFA after his RFA control ends. Add him to Gaudreau and probably a host of guys like Meier and Nykander and Miller and Boeser and probably a few more like DeBrincat and Pastrnakr. Two me this says two things:

1 - if you can get a long term commitment from Bratt and anything reasonable you do it since he wants to play for NJ and presumably will agree to fit into the salary structure

2 - don’t trade anything big for a soon to be UFA winger absent a prearranged reasonable extension. There is no need to do this. Each of thr next few seasons will have good players hitting the market and if they won’t agree to anything team friendly you can always pay the UFA rate without giving up draft picks and good prospects.
