top-9 with Tatar would be huge.Tatar looks around and then comes back for like 2 mil pls. I know that's not happening but I'm going to dream

Might be a better option to let Boqvist (if not traded soon) flourish on what'd be his best line to date (a combination of Haula and one of Mercer Tofolli or Bratt)Tatar looks around and then comes back for like 2 mil pls. I know that's not happening but I'm going to dream
It was draft day, there was no way it wasn't getting done now - we were literally at the witching hour.Had a hunch with the LeBrun tweet in the morning lol!

Goaltending is a question mark for like 25 teams in the league and one of them just won a Cup.Goaltending is the only question mark. Vanecek Schmid is a huge blind spot.
While I agree Boqvist is worse than Tatar today, its not unreasonable to think he can replicate 40ish points at about a million less. Plus itd increase his trade valueIt's not. If you were actually able to get Tatar for that cheap (you won't be) then it's a no brainer. Tatar blows Boqvist out of the water and even if Boqvist gets a whole hell of a lot better it's still not close. He's not going to turn out to be some guy that I'm concerned about losing because he's young and could end up being irreplaceable. I'd much rather have the far better player in Tatar in the short term, lose Boqvist, and then find some replacement in the future. I don't even want Boqvist in the top 9. I think he should be the 4LW.
The long-term extension is the sweet spot during this eventual cap-rise, though I also am hesitant based on nothing but worry of an early injuryGoaltending is a question mark for like 25 teams in the league and one of them just won a Cup.
In Fitz we probably have to trust whatever he decides at this point. I'm fine moneyballing our goaltending for a while, I'd also be fine with Hellebuyck on a rental deal. It's the whole long-term extension thing I'm not too crazy about.

Id welcome Tatar back but in that case Id want Boqvist moved; he isnt a fourth liner IMO, or at least hes not better served in that role than Lazar or Foote
If Boqvist, for example, was paired with Haula and Tofolli hed be able to playdrive a bit; at minimum hed be the fastest lol. He has some wheels and also some playmakingI don't care if he can give you similar production (I also don't think he can). The 1 mil in cap wouldn't match the VAST playdriving difference.
I don't think Boqvist is good enough offensively or overall to be a good 3rd liner. He's turned into a good defensive forward and forechecker. I'd much rather have him as the 4LW over Lazar. The jury is still out on Foote. As of now I'd take Boqvist.
How is it any more of a blind spot than the tandem of Vanecek Blackwood that we went into last season with? Or the Schneider (after 3 straight BAD decline years and being 33 years old) Blackwood tandem of 2019 that Shero had the audacity to think we could actually compete with?Goaltending is the only question mark. Vanecek Schmid is a huge blind spot.

That 'daily' comment suggests there is a lot of smoke around the Helle for rental rumors, but I don't see what other option is out there that's a clear upgrade over our guys.
Step 1: Trade for Helle
Step 2: Draft Hugo Hell
Not sure where this is leading, but it's kind of frightening.
If it ends up being like a bit of a raise on what he's currently making for a few years then it could make sense.
Luke Hughes will have new deal after two years. We have a couple of years before Gritsyuk will land on the east coast. Than we can trade retained Palat, trade Toffoli etcIf Toffoli meshes well with the group, I don't see why we couldn't offer him a 2~ year deal. He shouldn't be too expensive.
Hence people have to stop worrying about trading for a “rental” if the team trades for one and want to keep the player long term then it will probably happen.
