On his way to WPG for Helle lolI still am curious as to where holtz fits into this coming seasons lineup plans. Do they have him penciled in at 3RW?
I really hope he makes the team and does well. Devils desperately need another right handed shot with skill. Hoping he can still develop to what everyone thought he could be when he was drafted.I still am curious as to where holtz fits into this coming seasons lineup plans. Do they have him penciled in at 3RW? Utica again? Or is there a trade he’s in this summer?
No idea. If we don’t bring bring back Tatar and Sharangovich then he has a space in the lineup. But I’m sure Fitzgerald will try and add another middle 6 forward if that’s the case.I still am curious as to where holtz fits into this coming seasons lineup plans. The fit is nowhere near questionable. There is a need for a top-6 winger. There is a need for a shot-first guy with a cannon. The fit is impeccable. On his way to WPG for Helle lol
No, but seriously....I don't really know. The fit is still kind of questionable all the way around
Tage Thompson only kept getting NHL games because the Sabres sucked ass, and now he's considered one of the better centers in the NHL.The fit is nowhere near questionable. There is a need for a top-6 winger. There is a need for a shot-first guy with a cannon. The fit is impeccable.
The talent is questionable all the way around. I'm losing hope, too, which I hate to do. But unless someone can point me towards a recent example of a guy going from "cannot even stay up on the big club" to "top-6 goal scoring winger!" in their D+3 / D+4 year, the 'b' word has to start being whispered.

They tried Palat-Hughes-Holtz last preseason. It would be a huge boost for this team if he started to live up to his potential.I still am curious as to where holtz fits into this coming seasons lineup plans. Do they have him penciled in at 3RW? Utica again? Or is there a trade he’s in this summer?
That would assume he's coming in as a top 6 player, which I doubt. I also don't know that he's a good fit with rush heavy lines at the top. And I don't know what he's going to look like in a bottom 6 role. The fit is nowhere near questionable. There is a need for a top-6 winger. There is a need for a shot-first guy with a cannon. I could envision a third line of Palat-?-Holtz. A potential name I’ve thought of for ? is Christian Dvorak. That would assume he's coming in as a top 6 player, which I doubt. So yeah, I have questions on the fit all the way around.

Holtz+2nd or 3rd for a 1st round pick?
Guess I'm way more down on Holtz then you. I would expect a 18-28 range pick for him with that deal.I'm not adding in a pick unless that first round pick is pretty high.
Holtz’s 2023 summer workouts are going to say a lot when it comes to his NHL future. Hopefully he is working on taking his first step to the next level, so he can keep up with these guys.
pretty much the same for me. Just seems like he doesn't fit the current teams with how its structured. He definitely could thrive elsewhere but just not here.Honestly, I don't even mind the skating all that much...you can find a way to structure lines that it's not the biggest issue...but it feels like Holtz is very, very passive to me.
To put it bluntly...Holtz kind of feels like he doesn't have that dog in him.

If we compare him to a Mercer type player, he definitely doesn’t. Hopefully he just needs playing time to adjust and it can bring more of that out of him with the experience.Honestly, I don't even mind the skating all that much...you can find a way to structure lines that it's not the biggest issue...but it feels like Holtz is very, very passive to me.

Definitely not for Musty, If one of Wood, Honzek, Richie, or Daniil But would still be around in that 18-23 range then I would definitely pull the trigger.Pick 18 becomes a little more interesting...but something like pick 24? I mean, I'd rather just gamble on pick 58 and holtz versus a guy I'd pick at that spot, tbh.
Is someone like Quentin Musty worth Holtz + Myatovic? I feel like I'd just prefer to gamble on the latter.
