?? Two of them just went to the Stanley Cup final and the other was a major factor in defeating us in the 2nd round.

Are you seriously holding a grudge from a goal against us in 2009?
The two that just went to the Stanley Cup Final are not good players anymore. One was brought back from the NHL dead after an entire year and Marc Staal has been bad for years and years now, but that last name is pretty powerful. He was one of the more overrated defenseman in the league about 10 years ago and somehow still gets jobs. Playing on a team that just went to the finals is not a barometer for good/useful player.

Jordan is the only one that’s still useful and he’s the youngest, but I wouldn’t really be interested in him either.

Jordan's still really good.

didnt Jordan Staal wear his pride jersey with Carolina this year? maybe I’m mistaken.

My uncles are homophobic idiots. My dad isn’t. Not necessarily fair to lump them all into the same category because they’re brothers.

Jordan is still a good player, but I've always hated the Staals. I hate them additionally for being homophobic hypocrites.

Maybe Jordan is, maybe Jordan isn't. But he's still a Staal, whom I've always disliked. So f*** all y'all Staals.

I don't think Carolina had Pride Night jerseys this year. I think they just did the stick tape in warmups. Eric wore one when he was in Montreal, which makes him hiding behind the "goes against my religion" excuse this year look even more stupid. But I've hated that asshole since 2009, so I'm not really surprised.

Yup, that little shrug at the end was me responding to the NBCSN producer who told me "that's the right pick." Admittedly I was a Patrick guy going into the draft. He actually spoiled the pick for me as I was holding up the Hischer and Patrick nameplates originally, but he was just trying to help me get on camera. Although oddly I didn't make it on NBCSN's feed but did get on Sportsnet's.

If Kovy is a hall of famer, I wonder what jersey Ilya Kovalchuk will be wearing / what team he'd be representing.

Majority of his career is Atlanta, but they don't exist (maybe that doesn't matter?). Most NHL fans remember him as a Devil, despite only playing a few years there.

Can you enter the HHoF representing a KHL team, lol? If so, it's probably SKA?
He could choose the olympic athletes from Russia jersey to really piss people off.

Never hated Nolan as much as I do Kakko as a player associated with their fanbases. I thought the kid would be good and you could argue concussions absolutely ruined his career. At least he got a Cup in some capacity with Vegas winning this year.

I don't think they wore pride jerseys and only did pride tape. IIRC there wasn't any controversy surrounding the Canes so I imagine he participated.

Oh good, 3 years for Haula. I'm sure everyone who wanted him back won't have a problem with the deal and will stay calm and rational. I'm psyched tbh.

I'm hoping he took a cut on the hit to get 3 years. I didn't want more than 2

Lower AAV for the extra year is fine by me. If Erik Haula making 3M by year 3 is causing us issues then we have bigger problems.

To me 3 isn't lowering anything. I get it's haggling over a small amount but if we're haggling with a star player like Bratt you better be haggling with a 32 year old 3rd liner.
