The idea that teams trying to win don’t try and work in new younger players while trying to win is nonsense. There’s 82 games before the playoffs start and young cheap contributors are the backbone of extended cup windows, lol.

Nah, they all just roll with the same lineups through the years, that's why the Penguins won the Cup in 2016 with Jordan Staal and Pascal Dupuis and Chris Kunitz to complement their core.

Hall has actually played on 5 teams before Chicago.

He's definitely one of the better/most highly skilled journeyman of his generation.

Jagr started playing for a bunch of different teams, but his sixth NHL team was the Bruins at 41 years old. 10 years older than Hall is now.
True but let's be serious.

Jagr is a friggin' beast.

Hall is just a "good" player.

CM Punk with some awful attempts at trolling at the rock last night, we made it to the 2nd round and Taylor Hall played on 3 teams before going to Chicago lol...

"Thank you for Taylor Hall", CM Punk? Taylor Hall hasn't been in Jersey since 2020, dipsh*t. :squint:

For someone who is supposed to be "Friends with Ken Daneyko", he sure doesn't know his hockey all that well.

He should've kept that "Thank you" bullsh-t for when AEW was in Boston.

I want those 48 seconds of my life back.

Which fanbase is he speaking for when he talks about Hall? I can’t tell.

I didn’t actually decipher whatever he mumbled about the Rangers either but I guess he’s not a Rags fan because of the Hall comment.

He's from Chicago and is definitely a Hawks fan, though I'm skeptical he follows (non-Hawks) hockey enough to even know where Taylor Hall has been playing the last 3.5 years. He didn't seem to know we did make it out of the 1st round this past year, so I'm highly skeptical just how much he follows the NHL outside of his Hawks.

Were past the hoarding phase and thats gonna be a tough pill for some to swallow (especially those who think theyre smarter than everyone else and can get all the best talent without ever giving up)

Holtz is inconsequential to the future success of this team and will be seen as such, as will every other prospect this team has outside of Nemec and Casey

Heck, the only reason Casey isnt included is because his coming-of will line perfectly with the end of Marino's contract. He will play two more seasons in Michigan than one more in Utica, eventually replacing Hamilton's old ass in due time thereafter

The only important prospexts going forward are necessary depth ELCs, hence the picks of late have been Stillmans, Hameenahos, Squires, Vilens, etc.

The next top-6 prospect thatll come up will be Gritsyuk in a few years when Palat or Tofolli need replacing

"We're past the hoarding phase"

who has said we need to hoard more? You're making things up.

and saying guys like Stillman are more important to the team than Holtz is literally insane.

PS- still waiting on your reply about "analytic" darlings Bratt, Hischier, and Hughes.

Isn't that the ''Barclay Goodrow and Zach Hyman are keys to success and winning'' guy under another name?

I wonder if it's the same one that said the Coyotes were in better shape than the Devils and more well-run back in 2017? I believe the screen name of that poster was NJRockinRoller.

CM Punk is a legend and a legit hockey fan but the pipebomb that wasn't. The little brother thing had some potential to make me big mad but he squandered it.

Yeah, hes gonna kill it in Winnipeg or Utica

Sorry - but if you think Holtz is getting any sort of meaningful time on our best chance at a Cup for the next few years, you clearly havent been following Fitzgerald's moves closely

About a 1% chance Holtz gets top-6 minutes and he serves no purpose on a third line as a purely-offense player. The 1% being hes gone super saiyan since last year and is a top-6 NHL player today with a well-rounded game ... very very unlikely

He'll go back for Hellebyuck or cook more in Utica until hes moved for a solid third line contract.

He missed the bus by about a year or two - not his fault, we just ended up too good too soon. His shot was acquired to play with Jack and we just had our best regular season ever and signed a 40+ goal scorer to eight years - his need has dwindled to that of a surplus
I am now more confident than ever that Holtz will have a very good season

Too bad Edge is in WWE. He would have came out and speared Punk all the way to Long Island. The Rated R Superstar is a BiG Devils fan by the way.

obligatory post when he's mentioned

I want to play Toronto in the Playoffs and have this ugliness more well known. Maybe they’ll play less of his music at Devils games.

I've read he was a Rangers fan, but it's never been confirmed.

I wonder if he's really a Leafs fan or if he's one of those weirdo's that wears the jersey of the home team of whatever city he's playing? That Post Malone character was wearing a Blues jersey performing in St. Louis (didn't he fall through the stage there or something? lol) and then I think they gave him a Devils jersey to wear when that tour hit Prudential Center lol.

By the way, he looked really good and young for a long time, but it seems he's hit the ''I'm good with getting old and coming to terms with it'' phase over the last 7 or 8 years. First he let his hair go gray and he looks like a random 60-something year old bum in that shot in the Leafs hallway. I remember thinking in the early 00's ''I hope I look as good as him when I'm 40! His music sucks but he looks great!'' and for the last 7 or 8 years I've been thinking ''I really hope I look better than him when I'm 55-60''.

His voice must also be SHOT at this point, at least live. He may still sound okay in studio, but that gravely voice of his can't possibly sound good live at the age he is now, without the best sound guy you can possibly have. Those type's voices usually don't age well.

I've always though Bon Jovi sucked. I don't care if he comes from New Jersey and I'm supposed to like him. He seems like a good guy, but I've never liked his music, ever. I will say, before they got really big, they didn't sound that bad. Before they were making ballad music that seemed to be purposely made to sell millions of records. I feel the same about them is I do Def Leppard. I don't think Def Leppard was that bad before they kind of became more ballad-y.
