Wow, Mew and Mewtwo? I thought we were setup pretty well but this really puts it into perspective!
Honestly, Mew, Mewtwo, Starmie, Exeggutor, and Zapdos is pretty close to an ideal Gen 1 competitive team...

(How Colin Miller gets to be Starmie, I have no idea.)

I also like Mercer being Machoke. He could evolve! (I'm going to ignore the fact that according to the rules, evolution would require a trade.)

They also pretty comfortably go first over Power. Reinbacher is definitely a tier below though in my opinion.
I get that fwd's are more predictable then d-men, and I get the "knock" on Power as he is more stable then dynamic(Nemec probably falls into that category as well), but Luke Hughes is as dynamic as any of these guys short of Bedard, and now he has a couple years of high end play at the college level.

Should also be noted Fantilli benefited by being an older draftee in a mans body playing college hockey. Leo benefits from being a huge kid on the older end of the draft year spectrum as well. Hughes was a young draftee, and is still growing into his frame. Very possibly the best skater in the group.

I'm pretty confident he has as high an upside of any of them, has 2 years of proven high end play post draft, and shown his dynamic potential in playoff hockey and the NHL level.

Nosek and Tierney are good depth guys and always come in handy in the regulation season. Better off having them then trading picks for them come deadline

This is XG%
Playing thru an injury last year, yes please! If he bounces back he is an upgrade at 4th line center.

Anyone have some fancy analytic cards pinning him against McLeod?

Played through a lot of injuries last year as well. I'd love to see his 2021-22 numbers.
Used much more defensively yoy. 14% o-zone start compared 34% year prior. And 71% year before that with Vegas. Took a lot more faceoffs overall with Boston then he did with Vegas.

So Boston deployed him much differently. And then doubled down on his defensive usage in his 2nd year there. So difficult to compare his possession #'s year to year, but, not surprisingly they did sag with that defensive usage.

He was used on more of any energy line rather than a defensive line in Vegas, IIRC. I would argue he may be better than McLeod but it's likely system dependent.

I'm gonna guess the Devils don't have actual information about if a suspension is coming or its length but maybe are protecting themselves here. Depth is good, putting quality NHLers in front of someone like Nolan Foote is good, they aren't rebuilding anymore.

Nosek last year (wasn't on this years page) vs McLeod this year. They're both just guys

Doesn't factor in usage at all.

Both guys were leaned on very heavily defensively. Nosek's sub 20% offensive zone start is not something a JAG player gets. Nor is top 10 PK toi amongst fwds.

Ya, 70% o-zone start says not a defensive line.

We may have surplus NHL forwards who aren't waiver exempt... We may be at risk of waiver claims.

They seem to love Foote so I doubt he's waived. Clarke and Holtz are exempt. Bastian's not going down. Not going to lose any sleep over any of the others
