We all love Cangy, but Bill is a very good commentator and we’re lucky to have him when looking around at some other teams imo.

The one thing I do wish hearing was wondering how Cangi would've called some of our games last year, he went through the dark ages with us and I feel like his calls would've shown that last year. Some of his 17-18 calls were incredible and that was a fluke year

He was lowkey great all that season.

Then he was basically out of the NHL in 2020-21 at age 27, 6 GP w/ SJS & TOR, and in 2021-22, 2 GP w/ CAR.

He had an huge season Calder Cup winning Wolves in 21-22, 1st in G (48) and 3rd in Pts (85), but that typically doesn’t get a older player into the NHL.

He ran with his opportunity in Carolina.

And is having a ridiculously good season at 30 this year.

Him and Ryan Carter are my 2 favorite Devils in the bottom 6 the last decade+, extreme likable guys + great depth scoring.

Even though he positions his tongue oddly and has a slight lisp, and tries too many Docisms (and sometimes wrongly), I agree.

Spaulding is excellent. He has a good voice and appearance and is good to have around. His diction is clear. His play by play is accurate and tracks the action well, he’s insightful and reasonably honest too when we are playing poorly, as frequently happens. When he has a negative observation he will frequently voice it as a hypothetical question to Dano, as in, “How about it Dano, wouldn’t you maybe say . . .” And it’s Daneyko who will then start backfilling the excuses.

the devils 1st now is worth more now than it was when all this stuff broke out. hopefully the deal is adjusted if it goes through because of that and that Markstrom hasn't really liked what Calgary's front office has put him through. like devils first + whatever the Devils get for trading Toffoli for Markstrom.

Sara Civ also had an article today suggesting Toffoli+ for Ullmark which would be cool too.

The two things that are gonna increase the price are retention and if Calgary is taking Vanecek, who NJ I think has determined they need to pay to dump this offseason no matter what.

Toffoli For Kaliyev and a 1st
Trade the 1st + Prospect for Markstrom. Keep our own first in case we do bomb out of the playoffs
Try and trade Vitek but if we cant just hold onto him till the offseason.
Try to use the DAL 4th on a Depth Physical Bottom 6 Winger

Palat - Hughes - Mercer

NY is the media capital of the country. Getting an announcer position here is valuable. Doc was excellent, Cangi was excellent, and Spaulding is as well. The Devils have the choice of the best up and coming guys in the business and they've taken advantage of it.

Its funny that the Rangers are stuck with Rosen, who is past his prime and has fallen well below the standards set currently. They could have a choice of the best guys in the country but instead have to suffer.
