Agree on Markstrom. Though he's a year removed from playing like a Devils goalie, so maybe thats a better fit

Fitz saying that he loves being in the locker room and wishes he had an office down there makes me wonder if he's a little too close to the team and the coaching staff.
Managers should be removed from the day-to-day and make decisions based on logic rather than emotion. Instead we have Fitzy down in the room with the coaching staff every single day giving his input and collaborating. No shit he isn't going to fire Lindy. He's part of it.

Fitz will continue to sit and do nothing and just wait for the offseason so fans will have to suffer this season the entire rest of the way.

this is super small thing in regards to the big picture and just nitpicking but I'm kinda annoyed so lol but it would have been so much better just to keep Boqvist instead of getting Tierney/Nosek for that 12th or 13th forward role especially since you have a guy like Holtz parked on the 4th line. Even if you take out Boqvist's three game hot stretch it still looks better for him than those two (19gp with 3 points +6) and he just fit better in terms of speed.
Boqvist: 22 gp, 2g, 5a, 7p, +8 with 24 shots
Tierney: 28gp 1g, 4a, 5p, +2 with 16 shots
Nosek: 14gp, 0g, 0a, 0p, -3 with 14 shots
Boqvist only has 6 less shots than those two combined averaging 10:25 a game.

What are the head coaches out there right now? Part of the issue with hiring a new coach and firing Lindy is most want contracts past this year. Fitzgerald definitely shouldn’t do that.
The only way you really get interims without a full time gig is coaches doing favors for GMs (similar to Lemaire in 2010-11) or when we had the 3 man coaching staff with Stevens and Oates. Not sure who Fitzgerald is particularly close with to have do him a solid if it were to come to that.
The only name off the top of my head is Boudreau. I wouldn’t hate that to end the year but don’t think I’d commit to him without seeing who is available this off-season (Sullivan?)

Nico had an amazing night vs the Flyers than went out and didn't do shit the following 2 games.
He's a low end top line center. That 1-2 punch down the middle isn't looking as strong as it was last year with him and Jack. They are both supposed to be our leaders when it comes to offense , as well as Bratt and Meier. Look what happens when the games get harder and they all fade out. It's just flat out not good enough. This team has no real leadership. Games like this make it seem like our "core" players might not really stack up compared to the rest of the league as good as we hoped.

Boudreau is done. I believe he said he wants a management role next if possible but I would love to bring him here. A coach holding players accountable though might scare Jack and Luke out of here.

None of these guys are likely to come here for just an interim role.
I would steer clear of McLellan and Gallant as well. Don’t know enough about Berube, but I can’t see Sutter coming here at all.
Boudreau is the only name that interests me from that list, but that’s more because he always manages to get his teams to compete, especially when he first joins the team. I don’t think I’d want to commit to him beyond this year though.
The only fun thing about that goal is that Lafreniere turned it over at the blue line and cost Shesterkin the shutout, and Jack beat him from the nosebleeds.

Ruff needs to go. This was I think the worst game I've ever witnessed in every single catagory possible. We weren't prepared at all. We got completely out coached. We had almost a full period of powerplay time and we can't even score 1 goal. Lindy Ruff won't even change up the PP. He stays with the same players & lineup. So he put Mercer in? So f**king what. This whole team needs a major overhaul. We have no identity and no soul. Don't even get me started on Nate Bastian. Guy has his nose broken & is immediately put back on the ice to get destroyed by a body check & have his nose punched in by Trouba. That's player negligence at it's finest. No one even sticks up for him because our whole team is soft as shit. Ruff can't get his head out of his ass. Why not play Nemec on Pp1 since Luke has been trash? Why not play Holtz? Why not assemble a grit line in Palat-Lazar-Timo to match the grittiness the Rangers are playing? We do absolutely nothing. What's our PP 2 for 65? That's an unheard of stat and shows our PP is completely broken yet we won't change it. We are fundamentally broken on every level and this is the team that breaks the straw. We aren't doing anything. Fire Ruff, trade Toffoli for a 1st and ride out the season with no coach. See what you have with your current lineup & decide who is the problem. Offseason trade away the deadweight, hire a tough ass coach who won't let this peewee hockey garbage happen and trade that 1st for a goalie. I'm DONE with this team unless changes are made. Fitz has to make moves or his ass goes too idc. This is embarrassing on every level.
