Timo needs to keep building too. Obviously I want Nico healthy, but it’s nice having Timo and Toffoli on the roster to soften the blow vs where we would’ve been at last year.

Timo’s slowly picking it up, metrics aren’t where he’d want them to be but they’re far from bad, 7 points in 8 games. He’s not even at top level yet.

I don't feel the same about Tootoo; we didn't draft him. McLeod is a core player and I am betting on a 4 year extension this summer.

Obviously the production will cool down but he seems to have improved even from last year. It was even evident in the preseason when he was barely trying.

Banking points early in the season is vital 'cause it would get difficult later on to get them.

I’ve seen stats like this before and I never understood the fascination. Yes, of course the teams that are generally good teams tend to have a better October than the teams that are bad.

That doesn’t mean that if you’re a good team that struggled more than expected or a bad team that has outperformed that your outlook is suddenly transformed, it just means that you’ll probably be among the 10 ish teams that move into or out of a playoff spot between now and the end of the season.
