Is she just a regular, average person? Or is this some personality from the hockey world?

Either way, this belongs in the Shane Doan is better than Patrik Elias hall of fame.

Some random chick that appears on my TL with batshit hockey takes. I got into it with her after we lost to the Canes because she had "canes enjoyer" as her name and said Devils fans only think about the Rangers, the irony couldn't be more hilarious

Us trying to convince ourselves that Joe Blandisi was going to be something mentality.

Guy is gonna be the most random trivia question answer in a few years when we're winning Cups

For anyone that wants to feel old, Blandisi is already 29
Feels like he should be older than that, because it feels like he was a hot prospect here about 10 years ago.

But really it’s only been about 7-8 years. So 29 is about right.

But if we actually go back 10 years ago, Merrill is 31, Gelinas is 32. Josefson is 32 and is already retired. Urbom (lol) is 32 (can’t figure out if he’s retired or not, Wikipedia says no, but elite prospects doesn’t have any stats beyond 20-21 for him), and Adam Larsson is only 30, at least for another 3 weeks or so.

Staggered starts is a great thing that the NHL continuously gets wrong. It is objectively better to give casual fans the option to always be watching hockey rather than to go do something else when the period ends and possibly not come back.

The stupid part is starting a weeknight game before 7 and having every team play on the same day. They do this because it is easier to schedule around instead of having to juggle days off to keep teams playing on every day, but how often do we end up with 12 games one night (and 70% starting at 7 eastern) and then 2 the next day. You're limiting options of what to watch at that point on both nights, because realistically a fan can't watch more than 2-3 of those games on night 1, then only has one choice on night 2.

Us trying to convince ourselves that Joe Blandisi was going to be something mentality.
Well that and the fact weekend games are more crowd-friendly than weekday so teams are going to play two of Friday-Saturday-Sunday almost every week. The other weekday games should be a little more spread out so like you said there are more like eight games each day rather than thirteen one day and three the other.

Staggered starts would be nice on a regular basis, all they need to do is throw a game on at 7, 7:15, and 7:30 on nights where multiple games are scheduled at once.

Every team playing on the same night doesn’t work, because most fans have a team, and they’re going to watch that game above the rest.

If we had off tonight, I would love this promotion, and would look forward to watching all these games end one after another, which has the potential to be good entertainment.
Yeah it's one thing if you're doing this in April when the playoff race is hot and heavy but I have zero motivation to watch 'every game' in October, especially when my team's playing.

It just hit me :

Seth Helgeson (I think)
Ahhh, he was called “Hulk” lol.

Mark Fraser was the only thing that kept him from being the worst defenseman we’ve had in many years to play 50 games for us, but Fraser wound up playing over three times as many games as that for us.

Helgeson was as bad as you can get, short of Mark Fraser.

What a gem this thread turned out to be

This is a red flag, as I am very wary of players who rely heavily on rush offense at junior levels to score. The NHL is a cycle-based league: players chip the puck in, retrieve the puck, then generate chances via smart passes and puck movement as a unit. This is the majority of the offense at the NHL level, whereas rush offense is much more limited. NHL players understand how to contain players flying towards them at remarkable speeds and force them to set up in the offensive zone.

It was a stretch and I agree with you - comparing the two is not fair.

Smith took a penalty and the penalty kill looked good until Siegenthaler/McLeod failed to clear the puck on a sloppy play. My point is, we can choose to pick events in a time series, but how important is this when the team didn't score in the penalty shootout nor did Schmid make any saves (maybe 1, I forget)?
Ok that's fair.

But man...Smith seems to always be in the middle of things when they go south, doesn't he? lol

And he had another Penalty tonight almost like clockwork.

His nickname should be PIM. :snide:
