This all brings me back to the “Well he was a .920% goalie for the final 20 games. It doesn’t matter if he was .850% the first 10 games. He was injured. He’s really a .920% goalie and not a .900% goalie.
I appreciate the enthusiasm and the passionate argument but I’m sorry I just think Blackwood is too inconsistent to claim he is a .920 goalie .

That was actually a reference to Cory Schneider circa 2019. I don’t think Blackwood has had more than maybe 6-7 games of .920% since February of 2020.

This is the last 10 games. Yes he is 3rd out but it's obvious he is good at it and.Lindy is gaining confidence having him out there.

As I said last year, he had a knack for filling lanes in the neutral zone. With his speed and intuition for clogging lanes, it was obvious he would be a good PKer.
I like Boqi Hope he puts it together here because I could see him going to team like the Canes and becoming a player we regret losing...

Happy New Year!

After reading all the Laf hated on the Ranger’s board, I can really appreciate the Devil’s draft team. They got panache. Picking Nico over Patrick, Hughes over Kakko. They had the guts to draft a gangster in L.Hughes. They took some Russian guy Fitz can’t pronounce. They Shocked world when they picked some punk Slovak defenseman over two top centers. And Let’s not forget the Brattercorn!

Night and Day from the past regime.

But I was told he was their future captain?

Funny thing about Boqvist is that the skill is there.

You can see it.

But for whatever reason, it's just not being used to its fullest.

Maybe it's a Coaching issue; Maybe it's a Boqvist issue.

We don't know.

But what some of us do know is that he has not done enough to distinguish himself from the rest of the remaining Non-Core pack.
That's a very fair assessment. He's basically playing himself out of being a regular when Palat and Bastian are back. There's one spot and he's kind of competing with Z at this point for it and while he has a leg up with versatility as far as playing W or C, he's not doing anything. Zetterlund at least plays a bit more physical. Boqvist is good defensively but that doesn't seem to be enough to keep him in the lineup when we are all healthy. That's of course assuming someone else doesn't get hurt.

I'm really tired of the Holtz experiment at this point. And I don't know if I'm more unhappy with him or the staff/management for not sending him down. I think I'd blame them more. This has gone on too long, it's time to pull the plug on it for now.

Anyway, I'm really feeling at least another point tomorrow afternoon.

Just keep Vanecek in there.
Holtz gains nothing by being here for 6 mins a night. Go down to the A, play a bunch of a minutes. Come back next year and earn the top 6 spot because he's got nothing that translates to a bottom 6 role with the big club.

Boq is one of those players that looks dangerous when he is wheeling through the NZ and into the OZ. I thought he is good behind the net along the boards too, but maybe that is faulty perception. Problem he has right now he isnt shooting well and, none of his linemates are helping either.

Last Jan to season end he plays pretty well. A little like how Zacha used to fire up. He had a couple of 2 point games in jan feb last year.

I mean he had 23 points last year in 53 games. Not so shabby for a bottom 6 guy who was playing in and out of lineup last year.

He will definitely lose his spot when Bastian is back, unless Zetts falls off a cliff effectiveness wise. Assuming Palat comes back first.
