Yeah, we have some injuries to deal with but we played a team that had not played or practiced for 2 weeks, and was missing their 1C and 2C, and their top-pair D-man.

One team was ready and poised to play tonight's game. The other was the team in blue. I am not even upset at this stage. My expectations are low. All I want is for our top prospects to play good hockey, and for us to score some goals that don't come off a lucky bounce.
If they're going to play good hockey it certainly will be with them freelancing and doing whatever they can while figuring it out themselves because the coach is a clueless idiot.

Kakko 2g1a in 13 games Al 0-0-0 in regulation in 14 games and struggling harder and harder as the season progresses. Lias Andersson AWOLs and Vitali Kravtsov deleted all of his Rangers media on his instagram and imo was this close to asking out after being treated so poorly in training camp. That's a 1OA, 2OA, 7OA, and a 9OA in this rebuild. K'andre and Fox both came to the Rangers as complete players from the get go. Aside from hiring your buddies, what does this college coach do for us exactly, Jeff?
Couldnt of said it any better

So close to the perfect night if not for the ENG with 20 seconds left. I am besides myself right now

When you hire a coach to be a "teacher" and whose weakness was strategy that's what you get. Though we didn't get a teacher either.
Yup. They needed to bring in a solid X’s and O’s guy to support Quinn but instead we just got an old guy from the previous staff to stick around (Ruff) and another guy with no experience (Oliver) in the pros.

I know all the excuses about injuries and the young roster but honestly Quinn is AT BEST a neutral presence. If Panarin, Mika and Kreider are all firing on all cylinders and our goalies stand on their head then his team can win. But he’s not a coach who is going to elevate his roster.

Also have to admit it bothers me that he’s buddies with Drury and Gorton and it seems like that was a huge factor in him getting hired. I don’t like that at all.

I love all the assholes that wanted Ruff out last year. Yeah a coach that went to a cup and has won 700 games. We want him out but want to keep Quinn and Oliver. f***n idiots. Clueless never played the game morons

Almost as bad as Hynes getting hired again by his buddy.

I never say this. I never say it because I think it's just a dumb excuse for when the team is bad and latches onto the fantasy that you can punch your way to the Stanley Cup.

But the Rangers didn't give a f*** tonight.

I saw the same group play their nuts off last year so it isn't the players. Right before covid hit, we were fun bad like I mentioned.

I agree. This has been the case too often. Something is rotten in that room.

Kreider looks so checked out lol.
Man I would attach serious assets to trade Kreider for Hayes.

Plays a nice role on a solid team. He’s not the go to guy and appears to be another Gordon blunder at the moment. Should have moved him.

The thing that sucks with Chytil is he’s got COVID now (I’m assuming considering he’s on the list) so who knows how long it’s gonna take him to get back into the swing of things

Maybe he should have stolen the 3 games we were shutout in? Or the other 5 we have less than 3 goals in?

It has nothing to do with "shiney new toy syndrome." Nice cliche. Instead of catchphrases let's look at the obvious. Henrik is one of a kind and he was criticized by spoiled morons here. Shesterkin doesnt need to be Lundqvist and expecting him to be is stupid. He has been plenty good enough.

Its a lazy argument to say hes been good but can be better. Its like NFL fans who just blame the quarterback.

He cannot win a game where his team doesn't score. Can he steal a game 1-0, or 2-1 occasionally? From what I've seen from him, HE CAN. He has the ability to, but he isnt doing it. If he could steal one, he might be able to give this team some confidence.

Again, the least of the teams problems, I won't disagree with you there, he has been consistently good in net. I want to see consistently good with flashes of great because I know he has that ability.

I go back to earlier in the year when Ullmark in net stood on his head and stole a game for the Sabres over the Rangers. I haven't seen a performance like that from Shesterkin yet, and I think we can all agree he has that ability.

The excuses about injuries and a young roster go away when you lose to a KHL team that just rolled up from hospice care.

I think Shesterkin has been mostly good this season but watching Sorokin get a shutout and Shesterkin is still looking for his first and I'm really f***ing annoyed. Shesterkin has great in like 80% of his starts with the Rangers, but that's really pissing me off.
Ilya benefits from an experienced roster unified by a cohesive defensive system. There’s no comparison.
