Quinn has had 2 years with this group of young forwards for 15-30 games, 1 full season, 2 full season+ to develop some of them into being difference makers and hasn't done that in any form. When all the young forwards all suck and can't make a difference after 2+ years, that's on Quinn's poor development.

He should be fired but unfortunately he won't be.

I think this team looks about as much fun as the team that was sliding heading into the play stopped, similar to the playoff version, only without some guys being on their A game.

Unfortunately.

this team is not nearly as fun as the team that stopped in March. No way brother. This is the play in team. Quinn never got them back and clearly cannot manage this team under these circumstances. This is the team that got crushed in the bubble.

The game is tied. You have 5 defenseman, three of them are Bitito, Smith and Hajek.

Suddenly the Devils double their output.

Effort is a factor. Not denying that.

But that’s not a defense that inspires much confidence to stay tied.
so we win with Trouba in the third? Not sure about that. What I am sure about is that we barely got the game tied at 2 before the end of the second. This Devils team was missing just as many guys as us and has not played a game in over two weeks. How is this game even tied going into the third?

He cannot win a game where his team doesn't score. Can he steal a game 1-0, or 2-1 occasionally? From what I've seen from him, HE CAN. He has the ability to, but he isnt doing it. If he could steal one, he might be able to give this team some confidence.

Again, the least of the teams problems, I won't disagree with you there, he has been consistently good in net. I want to see consistently good with flashes of great because I know he has that ability.

I go back to earlier in the year when Ullmark in net stood on his head and stole a game for the Sabres over the Rangers. I haven't seen a performance like that from Shesterkin yet, and I think we can all agree he has that ability.
He has that ability.

If he did that we would be a whooping 5-9 instead of 4-10.

If we start looking at players who have been objectively good consistently, it’s an extremely small list: Panarin, Kakko, Fox, Miller, Lindgren, Trouba, Blackwell (only played 4 games) and Igor. Buchnevich has been good but a little inconsistent of late.

The rest of them have been flat out bad or at the friendliest, most charitable perspective, they’ve been inconsistent. Lafreniere has his moments but he’s inconsistent but he gets the most benefit of the doubt as anyone.

Well we all wanted a f***ing rebuild so we traded Hayes.

Yeah, how old was Hayes when we traded him? 25 or 26 and entering his prime?

Trade JT Miller as he is entering his prime for spare parts.

Move McDonagh and get pieces like Howden in return?

The 1st, 2nd, 7th and 9th overall picks not developing as they should?

Not exactly a good rebuild. Outside of bringing in Shesterkin, it has been a failure thus far.

EDIT: Also acquiring Fox was huge.

This teams work ethic sucks. Kreider and Zib have been awful. Yet they played more than Kakko and Strome. Fire this college coach

I think that's one of my main problems.

I totally get this is a rebuild, I came into this season expecting more losses than normal as we learned and grew with the kids. What I didn't expect was a staggering amount of unpreparedness, lack of drive or effort from the team (aside from some).

Looks like a strong, post game drink...well maybe before, during and also after is in order for everything single game from now on lol :)

Because except Kakko, Fox, and a couple of the 4th liners we picked up, nobody has been good. It's a team problem, not an individual problem.

I agree somewhat.

I think we’ve essentially lost ADA, Zibanejad and any chemistry that Panarin and Strome had.

Right now we are probably getting about 40 percent of the production those guys provide last year. And of that 40 percent, 90 percent is Panarin, who hasn’t looked nearly as good as his numbers indicate.

Right but then we're back to basically nobody looks good. Team-wide issues indicate a coaching issue.

Don’t worry guys if Trouba is out that means Smith can shift to the right and Johnson can plug back in

All of our problems will be solved

You know who should be playing and I bet management does as well. I know you won't admit it, but our defense is garbage right now with a good player sitting at home.
