If it weren't for Jack we wouldn't have the only 2 goals. He tipped the first goal and assisted on a pass to Bratt perfectly while he was wheeling.

Was he reckless, yes. But where was the rest of this team again?

Bratt is the only star pulling his weight at 5v5. From 21-22 through 23-24 Bratt was 10th in 5v5 P/60, Nico 19th, Jack 23rd, Timo 68th. Now Bratt 22nd with Jack 76th, Timo 105th, Nico 109th.

At the end of the day, special teams killed them tonight. Killing one of those pks and or scoring one of those pps and its an entirely different gm

Kudos for scratching out a point where they clearly had less gas in the tank than the other team.

3 tough teams ahead. Boys gotta get ready for it
This sums it up . Special teams and tired legs . And Jack making bone headed plays in the 3rd and OT .

Overall disappointed with the outcome. A point helps but the team had a gassed out and bad 3rd period, and OT was terrible.

Dougie was ok in the short OT shift but I definitely miss the Old Dougie who could snipe it anywhere and get it through into the net.

None of our players minus Nico this year are sniping. Bratt misses most of his grade A goal chances recently (tonight being hopefully a turnaround). 2 missed slot shot chances (Dowling, kovacevic), 3 missed good angle chances (Dougie, Meier, MacDermid). Some missed net front (Nico, MacDermid), breakaway (Mercer).

We could have had a clear lead. And yet same time makrstrom also saved our asses. A 0 on 2, numerous rush chances saved

No no f***ing kudos. They’ve been dogshit for two goddamn weeks. This is supposed to be a cup contender? Yeah f***ing right.

I don’t have the patience for this shit, not after the last decade+ already.
Cup contenders grind out points when they don’t have their A game. It’s good they got a point in a game where their PP did nothing and they gave up 2 very hard luck goals on the PK.

You’re also massively overstating how “dogshit” they’ve been for 2 weeks. It hasn’t been great. Oh well, teams have stretches of poor play. You know this.

We need center depth helps the second PK, Nico goes to the box and he are left with Dowling and Lazar for the faceoffs. Not the reason the Rangers score directly, but butterfly effect of May if they can get an earlier clear.

Markstrom played well and let’s be frank they didn’t give up a 5v5 goal. It’s fristrating in light of the Anaheim and San Jose games, but it seems like our early season road dominance is just evening out. A bad road trip overall, but not a killer (though it may be for the division). They need to get back home and play well.

Ironically, the team may have had a better chance winning it in the shootout tonight if they were able to survive OT.

We were really bad for the entirety of the 3rd (save for a few shifts here and there) and OT.

One of the few good shifts in the 3rd was the brief period of time we were on the PK, which was a a glaring sore spot in the 2nd period. And then when it got evened up we came inches away from getting scored on immediately 4 on 4. We looked solid on the abbreviated 3rd period power play, which again was a sore spot earlier in the game.

They didn't look like they had a goal in them in the 3rd or OT.

One win on the trip when they played mostly garbage teams is dogshit, sorry. The standard should be a bit higher, especially since they're usually better on the road to start with! Next three games aren't gonna be easy either.

Nico has been meh since his shooting bender regressed, pretty sure his line got caved by Rempe like the 2nd shift too lol

Normally when we play pond hockey is when it benefits us . With Jack Bratt Nico Meier Luke Hamilton , we should beat anyone playing pond hockey. It’s Jack being selfish and careless with the puck that burnt them.
I can see sometime in the future ( hopefully not and hopefully not already.) but teammates of Jacks might start getting frustrated with him hogging the puck and trying to do too much on his own. He is always calling for the puck and everyone defers to him too often . He tried to do too much in the 3rd / OT and it cost us. He needs to learn to make the smart play and not try to go 1 on 3 or 4 …… use your teammates for shit sake .

We only win at pond hockey when the other team agrees not to play defense and our goaltending is elite.

I don't think that's a sustainable thing. I'm not saying let's trap... I'm saying don't force shit and let the game come to you.

Serious question and I’m not even being sarcastic- Has Mercer EVER buried a breakaway? I thought he was one of our better forwards tonight but man….that would have been a huge shorthanded goal.

I love Nico as much as anyone but does he seem to be lacking that extra burst in his skating that he displayed earlier in the season?

This game really ticked me off and I feel bad for Markstrom. He did everything he could and deserved a better fate. He’s been phenomenal over the past 15 games or so.

He always tries the same pullback move and it pisses me off. Feels like he never scores on breakaways. Just wire it.

Igor didn't have to do much tonight and the Bratt goal was shit, so it's not like we got shut down by him.

That was probably evening out (market correction lol) for the two post hits in the 1st.

Next stretch before the tournament:

TB
FLA
TOR
PHI
OTT
BOS
MTL
PHI
PHI
BUF
PITT
VGK
MTL

I would like to see a 7-5-1 in this upcoming stretch.

I'll be content with #3 in the division. They like the road anyway

Carolina has been a house of horrors for them, I can't see them winning a series where Rod can just match Keefe's life away at home unless Markstrom flat out steal that series like Igor has done in years past
