Yup. Some perspective, 3 out of 4 points to end the trip (2 not great games, but not horrible either), boys are back home Saturday.

I'll take the point but there's Lindy Ruff coached habits that are biting in the ass big time right now. Funny that Jack lost them that OT when I was dreading a stupid Keefe OT duo that would doom them in. "Sam Carrick and Reilly Smith" in big 2025 LOL

The personnel obviously hasn’t been good enough (and I also don’t think can get good enough this season) but also the fact that Jack, Nico, and Timo’s production at 5v5 has been soooooo lackluster this year speaks to a deeper problem with how Keefe has the team playing. There’s way too much of an emphasis on the defense to the detriment of the offense. It’s the same thing that plagued his teams in Toronto. If anything because the personnel here is better on the backend we should be pushing for more and stop being soooo conservative.

They have been trash since the break . Markstrom is the only reason they havnt lost every single game since the break. They deserve to have . It’s getting very concerning. We didn’t deserve to beat Utah. We deserved to lose tonight. Jack has been careless and too greedy and lackadaisical with the puck lately. I have no idea why the are playing like shit right now. It’s frustrating
I checked the score throughout the game. I am glad to see that they will get a point. Now get another. Bummer just checked the Rangers got one in OT. Oh Well, I paid my annual sponsorship of $12 for the HF Boards and look what I got a screwed up forum in Grey that they are still working on. Maybe if I hadn't paid we would have kept the old that was working. Sorry gals and guys for giving them them money to make this change. If only I hadn't paid.

I'd like to agree, but we barely beat Seattle, who were OBLITERATED by the Jackets tonight.
Superstar goalie Grubauer lit up for 5 in 2 periods by the Jackets and yanked.
The one good thing is that the team hasn't played much worse than this the entire year, so you'd think things have to get better.
And they usually look better against QUALITY opponents like Tampa (not really them particularly) and Florida, rather than the recent gauntlet of cream of the crap, loser, suck, bum ass humpty teams that we've been seeing (LA not included) the last week+.

I don’t buy that. They were 3v3 demons under Lindy. Jack was moving through mud in this OT. If anything that’s a Keefe thing. Jack would’ve pushed the pace like a mad man with Lindy.

I don't take too much away from this game tonight either way. They were gassed in the third period, which is to be expected coming back east from a long western swing. At least they finally got a loser point.
However, Jack was brutal. When he plays pond hockey like that, we aren't going to win much.

He was playing stupid in the OT after flying around for most of the game.
This teams strength is getting better and better as a game goes on. Dominating the 2nd and crushing it in the 3rd.
To my eyes, they don’t have the legs for that at this current juncture
You focus on single game results too much. Blackhawks allowed one goal against the Avalanche, Stars allowed 4 to the Rangers last night, Buffalo beat the Caps this week, etc. etc. etc. It happens all the time. They played a fine game against the Kraken and they played 2 solid periods tonight.

Jack was a big part of that. He really needs to calm down and stop playing such immature hockey. Very reminiscent of his rookie year tonight.
I'm not gonna take much out of the abbreviated one in the 3rd. It may have been one of the very few good shifts we had the entire 3rd period, along with the abbreviated PK we had. We were AWFUL at 5 on 5, just as bad on the 4 on 4.
The first and third power plays were just bad. I mean, the first one was just not good. The third one was one of the worst of the year. The only good scoring chance was by them.

That deserves to miss the first rotation next OT to send a message. You can't be pulling dumb high risk moves like that resulting in a turnover and odd man rush the other way. That was a Hughes Incorporated throwback to last year under Ruff.

I was going to bitch about the Instagram hockey going on but then he had a nice deflection goal and like five really nice backchecks and I was going to just let the careless bullshit go, but leaving the puck behind when it's just Timo back is pretty gross. Bad decisions all night but I still love Jack's game.
I thought we played well except for Jack's occasional bouts of madness.
Even when they caved us to start the third I thought we were playing our game.
