Kane is an O6 fanboy and will only play for an O6 team. Looks like his options are Boston and Toronto if he wants to play for a potential cup/playoff contender this year.

Jake Allen has been great for NJ and there’s no reason to downgrade in net as we go for a playoff push.

There is no team on the planet who would send two top-10 defensive prospects in the entire sport for a 33 year old with 2 years of term.

That doesn't matter. When have you ever seen 2 of top 10 d prospects not in the NHL traded (both of which top 10 draft picks), one of which a 2nd OA pick for a 33 year old winger with 2 years left? It's literally unheard of and any gm who makes that move would be fired before the paperwork even gets submitted. You wouldn't even be able to get one of these guys for Panarin never mind both of them. These type of prospects if traded would only be available for a unicorn type player.

cool, you can have 1 of Nemec/Saliyev, a pick, and a dart throw prospect.

The only players worth Nemec AND Saliyev would never get moved. It certainly isn’t a 33 year old winger with 1.5 years left on his deal.
