I don’t think our prospects are valued as high as we do. Obviously Cowan has value but they are not looking to trade them. We complain that our depth doesn’t do anything so what value is that to other teams? No 1st round this year and limited picks. Are we trading nexts years 1st and 2nd?Picks, prospects, players? Too much for Treliving to get creative?
showcases a increased slowness
It really depends on what level of player you are talking about. If it's a very good player, with term, sure better prospects and picks are on the table.I don’t think our prospects are valued as high as we do. Easy 4-1win?Lose this and I’ll believe this is a different team
Going for the 4peat, against a former organizational piece, with everyone looking down a barrel at this team? This should be like a 4-1 clean and easy win.
Lose this and I’ll believe maybe we are worse than previous iteration and even a game 7 isn’t guaranteed this time

There has been several Ron Wilson like games lately where the game is turned off well before the end. But at least made it to early 3rd.Easy 4-1win?
Devils are one of the leagues better teams and certainly elite in the east.
Hate to say it Asher but this one has every chance of getting ugly before the end of the first period.

I too appreciate honesty. Might not always like the message but always prefer it over bullshit. Plus it helps fans realize that donning a Leafs jersey is just part of the job for them.I rather their honesty than some bullshit cliche and still putting in a bad effort. Said it in the Marner thread, there is clearly an organizational focus on looking ahead and scrapping bad games from their memory. But now they need to go out there and play well. Prove it doesn’t matter and bust the slump.
Would not surprise me. Too bad about JT but they'll find a way for a bit here. Stolarz will be a big lift soon too.Think I saw somewhere that the Leafs have the most man games lost this year.
Minten has been called up.It's either him or Holmberg right? Unless they do something funky with the lineup.
Devils being an elite team would make it even more likely, especially in the pastEasy 4-1win?

That was the game Holmberg tied it up late with a shorty which I thought Markstrom played poorly. Matty won it in OT. Going to be interesting to see if NJ wants it more for Keefe than the Leafs want to stop this 3 game losing streak.
I warned about this starting a couple of years ago. Dubas, was severely limiting what the next GM could even do.That seems like a lot of excuses? Are the only way of making trades trading 1st round picks? He traded how many picks to add 3 players last season, 2 walked and the other has 1 goal since?
He had a full off-season where he did nothing other than sign a few players. No trades. That's 2 off-seasons in a row, for the record.
The Adams Award all but won this year for Keefe, cuz Leafs.. and this game better not help him cement it!!
Sooooo.. big game for that reason, lost 3 in a row - all signs point to a skilled NJ team walking us... guaranteed Leaf win then??

I listed all the reasons why the following GM would find it nearly impossible to do anything outside of offseason UFA's and around the deadline.
It's playing out to a tee.
Brad won't get the time. It'll be long after Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Tavares have moved on.Can't wait to see Treliving fix it and get this team to win a cup then

I'd be willing to bet (and in fact have) that the leafs will win this game, and it will be the usual combination of Matthews, Marner and Nylander that does it. That said, this is the kind of game where I would like to McMann score a couple of goals.Devils being an elite team would make it even more likely, especially in the past
We would demolish the lighting, outscore the Avs, own the jets, best the golden knights.
It was a take on the team more than the opponent, in years past this would’ve been thought to be an ugly game, but then it would turn into an easy win for us. The team knew how to toy with our expectations and keep us hooked enough to care and believe but not enough to actually win anything (division, PT, rounds, cups)
If we follow that pattern than I’ll think this is the same team, if we lose than maybe we are worse than years prior lol.
Would it work?Anyone tell the fans to relax?
That should be the mentality regardless. Dog fight. Every game is tough, every game is winnable , every game is loseable. Betman has his parity.with the injuries, leafs lose another 3 in a row, and making the playoffs will be a dog fight
