No its the actual story. No matter how much you want to ignore it.

It doesn't mean he should have been on the team. We could have waived him and we did just 6 or 7 weeks into that season, but he should have been done away with before that.

Whatever had to happen, he shouldn't have started the 19-20 season on the NHL roster. His last 20 games were a bullshit mirage. Nothing more than a market correction to balance out the first 9 games of .850% goaltending to start that season. He wasn't really an .850% goalie, nor was he a .920% goalie. He was somewere in the middle and when you combined those he was a .903% goalie that year. He was a .905% or .907% (I used to have the numbers memorized) for about the last 120 or maybe even 130 games of his NHL career, including the 4 games of .950% in the 2018 playoffs. And that was from sometime in November of 2016 onward.

That's all that was at the end of that year, a random market correction streak to balance things out. And he proved it the very next year and has only gotten 1 measly, stinkin NHL game since we did away with him. It's just like when a forward goes on a shooting heater and then has a long drought or at least somewhat of a drought later in the year or vice versa.

Yes, I was pro-buyout, if not thinking of the player as a human and allowing another chance to resume his NHL career.

It definitely is helping us now, that's for sure, but we kept him on the NHL team for one season longer than we should have. And he was gone (he was called up again when guys got injured) only 7 weeks in.

Has there ever been a Devils forward to have two different goal droughts of at least 38 games? Cam Janssen maybe? One of the other goons?

Obviously Eric Boulton had ZERO points in 51 games, but this is exclusive to players that have actually scored goals, so he wouldn't count, David Hale wouldn't count (he eventually got 4 goals, but none in 146 games as a Devil) either.

How many players have went at least 38 games without a goal two different times as a Devil? McLeod is 4 periods away from doing that.

He did get his first shot on goal of the season last period though.

The Devils have brought in veteran goalies in each of the last 3 seasons.

Backups who were supposed to mentor Blackwood. Only this season have they brought someone in to actually challenge for the starting role. I'm mostly talking about prospects anyways.

I think we've both never been sold on Blackwood so we've been looking for different options for a while now. Too bad the team wasn't.

I hope they actually try it. They consistently trying to sign and draft goalies. Daws and Brennan were number 1 NA goalies in their years.

They just need to start to find where is you can find acually the best ones.
Where every metro team did draft\sign from at least one goalie. And not the only metro teams.

I can`t stop to try to find better goalies until someone will actually start to be 91.5%+ consistent stopper. I can`t watch to see how freaking poor team like islanders can be in a couple of steps away in the game like this only because their goalie save their days four-five time.
I know new russian goalie isn`t russian new winger and he will not help to score, but... you know... would be great to have your own "Sorokin\Shestyorkin\Vasilevsky...", ... may be Nikolayev?

Why we can read every day from Bleedred about how Blackwood is bad? Or from Brattpack about Bratt? I can be the that kind of a guy too) Just sign Nikolayev and I will calm down. (and will find new toy =-D)

I like it too. He has good start this season. But Nikolayev is much more proven on the different levels and 4 years older. Or Isayev. I`m not against him too.
