Anyone talking about the season being over is straight up embarrassing. Just relax through the peaks and valleys. This place overreacts to results like crazy.

When we started 0-2 we were the worst team ever, then we won 13 straight and you couldn’t say a bad word about the team without getting Devil Doggo memed, and now we’re talking about this team being horrible again.

This one is over, but tomorrow is a VERY WINNABLE game.

Florida can't get a win over anybody but us and Columbus in the last couple weeks and even Columbus embarrassed them the first time they played them

Going rough for Nico offensively at the moment.....that was a horrible shot. I know he scored 5 softies this season but that shot ain't gonna cut it.

Early in the season the shots were dangerous. But the last few weeks, yeah, everything is muffins from the outside. Even that isn't bad if you are battling for rebounds and winning the puck for second and third opportunities. But that has completely and utterly dried up.

I completely agree. If this team had one guy on every line to just park their ass in front of the net and clean up these soft shots and actually put up a fight, we'd have no issue scoring goals. We must be the worst team in the NHL at battling and scoring goals from in front of the net on second and third opportunities, however one may quantify that.

I believe that some people that post in this thread "thrive" more when the Devils are bad. Like they legitimately enjoy it, because they can get their "takes" off. They'll never admit it of course, but still.

I think it's painfully obvious it was a playoffs or bust year for him to come back next year. That was obvious. And how many coaches stay around for a fourth year after missing the playoffs the first three years straight? Obviously Blashill did for a while and Dallas Eakins and DJ Smith currently are, but we're supposed to be better than those teams. At least Detroit and Anaheim. Ottawa got a lot of hype because of their offseason.

My call that he'll be fired midseason? I certainly think it's possible if we look like we're not gonna be able to tread water. I think we're still several weeks away from that.

And I do think we'll see personnel changes before that. Not trades, but likely Akira's recall, even if we have to have 3 goalies on the roster. Unless Akira gets blown to smithereens upon his return to the AHL. Then they might not wanna throw him into this.
