Green is certainly not the answer

Well this is nothing to do with him at all or at least not much.

They simply haven't had enough practices yet to be able to implement what he wants the team to do lol. That's something to the effect of what he said in the interview with Novo that was published today.

That interview was annoying as were some of the responses by other journos because it implies it's 100% a player issue going on and Green has the right pulse on whats wrong and how to fix it...which seems amazingly out of touch.

Also really ignores that he has been coaching this team all year.

Not even close. Absurd statement.

Jake Allen playing like this? We’re comfortably in the playoffs. Allen being a .900 guy? We’re close to the playoffs.

No, obviously Allen can’t keep this up. It’s just very funny how you act like no goalie can play well behind poor D. We played worse than ever and he put on a show.

I never said that.

Our goalies *have* played well all season behind bad D, until they got trained to try to do too much .. And then Vitek is scrambling out of his crease and guessing at every shot.

Schmid looked to be a savior for a few games and then got so profoundly broken he isn't an AHL goalie anymore... Anticipating shit that isn't happening. Remember how quiet he was in net?

Daws was good for even longer...in fact maybe until the Rags game shattered his confidence. He actually played well.

Allen is a vet goalie. Maybe he lasts for ten or fifteen games before his SV% is under .895 and we are all calling for another goalie.

When you going to actually see what's up here? How many goalies will it take?

Well it’s been festering all season. They are just allowed to do whatever they want with zero consequence. And especially jacks “people pay to see me” tipped the scales for me.

but but but 99 point 99 points 99points... he's hurt he's hurt he's hurt.
scream it until your blue in the face. doesnt change the fact that he sucks right now and being hurt shouldn't prevent you from making smart simple plays.

The guy is just simply not that good. He's a weak flawed player and extremely unlikeable.

It drives me crazy when people deny that overall team play changes over the season, both good and bad, every year. Both the underlying numbers, and counting stats (aka results), will fluctuate.

It’s been even more wildly up and down this year, with too much down, but we definitely played noticeably better than this earlier in the year.

Playing worse then they did under Lindy. It's pretty safe to say he instilled some bad habits , let Jack Hughes and his brother a get out of jail free card while other players are getting garbage minutes with plugs like Nosek , Tierney & Smith.

This team needs a new coach who will scare some of these guys away from this franchise. I'm fine with moving on from pretty much any player if they are going to play soft uninspired hockey every night.
I don't blame the coach for this when we've seen this same thing under the whole staff. The Hugheses running the organization is ultimately on Fitz alone.

The Vancouver Canuck Fans told us he was a horrible coach especially with the offense. So there is that🤔

Me when I see the Devils lost:

oh-no.gif

I gotta tell ya, I spent the whole day with the gf. Went to an outdoor flea market and found some cool stuff, hiked a trail by a creek, got sushi, went to a French bakery and got some macarons. It was a great day. I feel so much better for having skipped the game. I think that will be the rest of this season for me.

He can be as dynamic as he wants, but he will constantly cough the puck up. Safe and steady over flashy.
I’m guessing at some point he will start to learn to pick his spots a bit better. He’s a smart kid let’s see what some experience and maturity brings before we presume he will always play the same way

If I spent the whole day with a girlfriend my wife would probably be pretty angry

Most of this is just patently wrong...Vitek and Schmid were both awful from minute one this season. Neither had a 'savior' stretch this year. Daws did get ruined from the ridiculous overuse - again and I expect the same to happen with Allen as long as Green still thinks he has a chance to get a job next year. But Daws's three week stretch and Allen's two games are about it as far as actual good goaltending this year.
