Another statement win. Devils managed to hang around in a "tight-checking" game and get to OT to get the win.

I thought defensively, the battle level from almost everyone was high. They were winning battles in the corners and the walls in the D-zone. Marino was fantastic all over the ice again.

Side note, I am definitely one to rail on Graves, but that is one of the best games I've seen from him. He did what you want a guy like him to do ideally: Be physical and win battles in the D-zone, make simple plays to move the puck out. He didn't try his usual wannabe Bobby Orr antics.

This is his issue. He thinks he's better than he is. If he just sticks to being a simple defensive d-man, he will be good here. I still move on from him after this season though.

@Guadana must be stuck in traffic after all.
Fvcking Toronto area.

If @Guadana flew all the way from St. Petersburgh to casually catch a live game of the Devils in Calgary, buy him a 2nd beer on me
My big friend lived in Calgary with the family of one long time player of Calgary Stampeders. Everything I understand that calgary is very boring city(she lived in New Jersey three years before). If the world will change and I finally wil got normal circumstances for traveling, I will prefer to casually catch a live game of the Devils in different city)

Haha, ill be back but ill bring this lovely US bar culture with me.

I had the time of my life.

Srsly. I was in the same bar on Thurs vs Edm. When i walked into the bar on Thursday, this pretty woman walked to me and knocked my Devils hat off my head to the floor.

Today i found only one free seat at the counter, next to a pretty lady (great, right?) and went for it. Looked at my left: it was the same woman from Thursday lol

So i went to her: "Arent you the lady that knocked my hat off on Thursday?"

She obviously denied everything, very loud so everyone heard that part, but then she subtly whispered to me, with a voice like the elf Arwen in LotR, 'f*** the Devils'.

5 minutes later she admitted that she was a huge Rags fan. And she was from Oklahoma.

I didnt go home alone, though. I went home with a W.

f*** the Rangers
did you billington ghost her? :naughty:

Holy.. What a road trip! I was going to be happy even with just 3pts. I don't know how long this lasts, but what a great time to be a Devils fan! And everyone whose suffered through the last decade deserves this. As long as they keep playing like this, everyone stays healthy and we get good goaltending, we'll keep winning more often than not. There's gonna be some unlucky bounces, great individual efforts by opposition, but 5 on 5 they aren't gonna get outplayed many times if they keep this up.

I actually think the Flames are one of the best teams in the league, dispite their losing streak, and a tough matchup for the Devils. Very physical team (Nico and Jack definitely felt it), excellent defence and goaltending, couple of elite forwards and bunch of depth. Their PK is very active and aggressive, and aside from the 4-3 OT PP, totally neutralized the Devils PP. They gotta make adjustments for the next game, quick one touch passes, lots of movement and lots of shooting.

What a run! Feels great!

You saw the first 2 games. What has changed? The system or the players? I think he simplified things and let the skill carry the play rather than the crazy positioning - especially in the D zone.
I've noticed both D ending up below the goal line a lot less during this streak. I just feel like it makes it so much easier to control your crease with a defender there instead of our tiny wingers.

I wouldn't even be upset if Bratt didn't get a point tonight so long as the Devils win.

Besides, he broke the record and owns it (no more Random NHL Player Jabroni owns a Devils record now. Only a Homegrown Devil).
See?

Not upset.

Not upset at all................grrr....*ahem*...Not upset. :D
