I think other than putting him out there for the odd shift to win Jack’s line a draw, Haula should be swapped off that line for Sharangovich. He’s playing fine, but I think the lineup is more solid with Haula as the 3C.
Then what will they do with Hischier?

What a f***ing win.

And a crucial one considering the opportunity to separate from the pack with the Isles losing.

The 4th line is nuts right now.

And this team is scoring by committee which makes it very deadly as opposing teams cannot just focus on Hughes/Bratt/Nico anymore.

Speaking of Bratt, streak is over BUT he's the sole owner of the record so suck it, Tom "Mr. Irrelevant" Higgins!

Oh and I'm sure the Flames will be out for blood when they come to the Rock, albeit after they play the Isles (whom I hope they take out their frustrations on them and beat them in Regulation).

It’s nice to see this team finally coming into its own. W maturity. Playing the right way. Etc etc. this team is very good.

At some point you need a right handed shot shooting threat. It’s why I think Holtz will eventually fit into this lineup. Also do we have the best 4 th line in hockey right now ?
this is not completely insane. i assume you refer to the bmw line and i am not sure, they are clearly deployed as fourth line. it's the devils energy line. from a toi perspective their usage varies because of the players usage on special teams.

based on the (advanced) stats you could form an opinion, that the devils have the best skater group in the nhl and it wouldn't look completely out of place. still early and small sample size tough. we can revisit this topic once the plans for the parade are finazlized. speaking about the parade. @Nubmer6: any status update? do we still wait for the calgary home game?

Of course. Cup.jpgs don't come easy

No matter how you feel about Faceoffs, you just can't have a guy playing center who wins 33%.
The center doesn't HAVE to take the faceoff, although it's better in the offensive/defensive zone for him to do it. Hopefully Hughes gets good enough at it though that he doesn't require someone good at FO on his line, additionally Haula was looking mighty good as 3C, moving him back there at some point might make sense (like in the postseason or even if the lines' offense stagnates in season).

Pretty predictable that our lineup would be good. I have been saying for a few years it would take 8 years from 2015 so the Devils would have multiple draft classes in their prime producing years. Imagine if the Devils had done better in the 2015 draft!?!?!?
better than qfs? and remember speers was basically traded for mercer, siegenthaler and bahl.

Patience is a virtue. Circa 2018 Development Camp .... :)

I definitely think getting rid of Zacha and Ty Smith was addition by subtraction, then adding Haula and Marino to replace them was addition by addition. Just two tremendous trades.

Fitz did tremendous work, I'm still not on board with the Palat signing, but I get it, and I'm very happy Fitz wasn't aggressive and missed on Gaudreau because I think most likely, the Devils get Gaudreau that means Bratt gets moved. I don't see them keeping both.

Agree. I am just disappointed Fitz was even considering Johnny Hockey. I had no interest in him then or now and certainly nothing has happend so far that changes my mind.

Why not? The guy still dominated play each of the last 2 years while getting crushed on draws. It's clearly not having any real impact on the game for him.
It really only matters in certain dzone and ozone spots. But luckily we have 3 other really good guys to choose from to take draws. Im not stapling Haula to Jack just because of faceoffs.
