Proposal: Josh Norris to Van

Norris has been excellent this year. There's no need to move him at all with the cap going up and when he, Stutzle and Pinto are in the lineup, the Sens are a legitimate threat.

No deal whatsoever.
He's been playing at a -4 million dollar level compared to his cap hit. His injuries and injury liability obviously play a large part in that.

That is likely whay the Sens would be looking to move on if possible without getting reamed.

If they're looking to make changes, he's offering the least of the team compared to their cap hits, along with his injury liability.

I think that at the end of the day the sens are keeping Norris, now it only a question of how many more game she will play.

He is 25 years old and I'll set the line at 300 more games , who is taking the over?

Please share what you are having as it sounds mindblowing to say the least and I like Pinto.
Under for me

Josh Norris

For

Carson Soucy
Nils Hoglander
2nd round pick

Ottawa wants more cap flexibility moving forward and Vancouver gets a legit 2C with injury issues so that’s why he comes so cheap.

Thoughts?
Just brutal from Ottawa's point of view. No way the Sens GM could justify such a meager return. Zero incentive to make that deal as the players and pick don't move any needles of improvement for the Sens.

Having known a person with dozens of procedures for a shoulder injury and rotator cuff— this is not a player Canucks should be interested in to play the game of hockey when my friend can’t even lift his arm above his head without pain and loss of strength.

I always laugh at comments like this............you have a friend that we have no clue what sort of shape he's in, what sort of habits he has etc. or what sort of treatments he's done........and since his shoulders are bad this is a blanket statement that anyone with shoulder surgeries is permanently screwed ?

I've had shoulder issues but with proper strength training, diet, and treatments like PRP am back to 100%.

Professional athletes heave a ton more resources than most guys on the street.........with stem cell therapies these days it's pretty remarkable what the human body is able to do......

LOL

Canucks already taking a chance on Chytil, now Johsh Norris too?

8mil for 3 more years after this season for someone good for about 50 games a year and cant be counted on to survive playoff hockey.

No Thanks. and definitely no thanks if it will cost anything valuable.

Willing to gamble on him if its for scraps.

It has been reported by Sevaralli that Ottawa has been looking to get rid of Norris all year and would look at getting rid of his 8mill off the books as a win iteself.

Norris is owed 9.5 M in real dollars for the next two seasons and is always injured. There is absolutely incentive for Ottawa to move him, and because of those factors, that’s the type of return he’ll get.

You’re drastically overrating Norris.

There’s no certainty in anything nor do I know Norris personally. Nor have I said anything what you’re accusing me of ie “permanently screwed”. It’s all about risk which I would not take.

Fair enough.......sometimes you gotta take shots like this..........pretty sure we are not going to be able to find someone with the talent of Norris for the price tag it's gonna cost us.........sounds as if he could be had pretty cheaply. If it doesn't work we LTIR him. By all accounts his shoulders have been fine this year.

The reason we didn't resign Chris Tanev was that he was always injured...........funny enough he's been surprisingly healthy after we made that decision (which in retrospect was the wrong one). What I'm trying to say is that you never really know and imo Norris is a shot worth potentially taking

That's the common misconception, LTIR will fix everything. His destroyed shoulders will never prevent him from skating so he may just lose his shot and faceoff ability and Ottawa is left with a shell of a player no one will touch, making 8 mil, total disaster. Gotta cut your losses at some point or get left with nothing but lost cap space
